For the Crosby family, the past three years in their neighborhood have been filled with warmth, friendship, and a welcome escape from the cold winters of New Jersey. But perhaps the most meaningful addition to their new life has been their beloved dog, Molly.

Molly, a roughly 10-year-old rescue, came into their lives at just the right time. While preparing for their move, the Crosbys knew they wanted to adopt a dog once they were settled. That moment came while volunteering at Renegade rescue, where they first met Molly. It didn’t take long to realize she was “the one.” With Ele needing a smaller dog due to a leg issue, Molly was a perfect fit—not only in size but in temperament. Already trained and easygoing, she quickly proved to be a true blessing.

Though Molly’s exact breed is a mystery—testing revealed a mix of five different types—her striking eyes hint at Boston Terrier roots. Outlined in what looks like natural eyeliner, her expressive gaze is often the first thing people notice. Her personality matches her looks: she’s incredibly friendly with people, though she prefers to keep her distance from other dogs.

At home, Molly is both clever and charming. One of her signature moves is sprinting to her bed the moment someone points to it, eagerly awaiting her treat. She also has a favorite toy—Lambchop—which she loves so much that she’s made a habit of unstuffing it.

Molly’s love for adventure shines brightest during her daily golf cart rides, a tradition that began when Bill took her out for the first time. She enjoyed it so much that it quickly became part of her routine. Mondays are especially exciting, as she gets to cruise around when the course is closed.

Of course, Molly also has a humorous side—and a bit of a stubborn streak. After the family returned from a two-week trip to Portugal, during which a sitter stayed with her, Molly made her feelings known. For several days, she refused to even look at Ele, keeping her back turned in what could only be described as a canine grudge. It’s a memory that still makes the family laugh.

Around the neighborhood, Molly’s favorite place to be is anywhere on the golf cart, enjoying the breeze and the company of her family. While she hasn’t made many dog friends, she more than makes up for it with her love of people. And while she doesn’t have a favorite local business, she’s always happy just being along for the ride—literally. Whether running errands or taking a drive, one family member will always stay behind in the car with Molly, ensuring she’s never left out.

From her expressive eyes to her loyal (and occasionally stubborn) personality, Molly has truly found her place with the Crosby family—and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
