Introducing Cindy Flowers' Real Estate business!

Where did you grow up? How long have you lived in the area? Tell us about your family
I was born in Laramie, Wyoming (very few people are from Wyoming!) My dad was transferred a lot with Chrysler Corp so we 5 kids learned to adjust. I attended 10 schools in 10 years but got to stay and graduate from Golden High School in Golden, Colorado. I have lived in Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Utah and Texas before I moved to Gilbert 40 years ago. I chose Gilbert because it reminded me of Golden - a little western town at that time and I wanted to raise my 3 kids in this great little town. There was only one stoplight in Gilbert (at Gilbert and Elliot) when I moved to Gilbert!

Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now…
I started "flipping houses" many years ago and also built homes in the mountains in Colorado before moving to Gilbert. I came to visit my dad in February 1980 and thought this was the most incredible place in the world! I went back to Colorado and packed up my 3 kids and moved here immediately and started building homes in the east valley. I didn't need a real estate license to sell what I owned, however in order to pay for what I was building, I did get a license so I could represent others on their real estate sales and purchases. I have worked for and with many homebuilders in the valley including Pulte and Cresleigh as well as lots of smaller builder/developers. I have also had the privilege to work with some of the top brokers and real estate companies in the valley! My youngest son convinced me to go back to school to finish my degree (3 1/2 years of pre-med) so I did later graduate from ASU with a degree in Business and Marketing. He and I actually got to walk together for graduation as we finished at the same time! GO DEVILS!

What is your business, how/why did you start your business?
Real estate sales and marketing is my business and it just seemed to be a fit for me even when I was studying to be a doctor. I have always enjoyed the construction aspect along with the design activities of building or remodeling homes. Adding the customer service and client care that goes along with being a Realtor is probably what I love most about listing and selling real estate. It's the best reward ever to help others realize their dream of home ownership and/or assist them in selling a home they want to sell.

Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice can you offer to Seville neighbors?
Buying or selling a home that you and your family live in is one of the most important decisions people make. We understand how critical it is to have the best advice and expertise provided about such a critical decision. We take that very seriously and never take for granted your trust in us. Our motto is to make a positive difference in the lives of others and we work to do that every day. We also give back to our community in numerous ways throughout the year and actually have recently made a flyer to show what we believe in and devote special attention to! My advice is to be sure to interview several Realtors whether you are buying or selling because the decision of who represents you on such a major decision is critical!

What else we should know about you, your family, or your business?
Going forward, we are currently interviewing for 2 more Realtors for our team so that we can continue to serve all the people who want us to represent them. We are so proud of receiving the "Neighborhood Favorite" on Next Door for the 5th year in a row. We also love sponsoring the Val Vista Lakes Mega Open House event every month. Being a long-time member of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce is very special to me as I truly love our "not-so-little" town. There was only one stoplight in all of Gilbert when I moved here and it was at Gilbert and Elliot. Every other intersection for miles around was a 4-way stop and there were few houses and miles of fields full of crops. My kids all graduated from Gilbert High when there was only one high school in Gilbert and now I have a grandson entering his senior year at GHS. I love our town!
