We are excited to introduce Ebony Simelton, the mastermind behind Slumber Happy. A proud Wisconsin native turned Val Vista Lakes resident for the past four years, Ebony brings a unique twist to event planning, focusing on the magic of sleepovers. By day, she serves as a District HR Specialist for Fry’s, part of the Kroger family of companies, with an impressive 24 years of dedication. I’m a Wisconsin native however I moved to the Val Vista Lakes community about 4 years ago. I wanted to get away from the snow so I decided why not the beautiful state of Arizona. I’m a wife, and a mom of three children a 17, 15, and a 6 month old.
Tell us about the events that led up to where you are now.
I went to school at UW-Whitewater in Wisconsin. I wanted to be a Pharmacist however I changed directions and took a different career path. I’m a District HR Specialist for Fry’s by day. I’ve worked for the Kroger family of companies for 24 years.
What is your business, how/why did you start your business?
Slumber Happy, is my business. It started with my DIY baby shower and other events with my family where I was told I needed to be an event planner…..well, I didn’t want to do a wedding or anything as elaborate as that! I love a great pair of PJs and little people what I call children. So, I said why not create a company that specializes in sleepovers? I come to your home, set up your magical sleepover experience, and come back the next day and clean it all up!
Given your business expertise and the nature of what you do, what advice can you offer to Val Vista Lakes neighbors?
