Lizzi Rose

An All-American Girl

A freshman student at Leander High School, 14-year-old Lizzi Rose’s home includes her father, Daniel, mom, Krystl, 13-year-old sister, Chloe, and two dogs – Gracie and Nash. Then there’s Bullet.

Bullet is a sorrel quarter horse Lizzi enjoys riding. “He’s 14 years old and is really well trained for barrels.” Bullet does not belong to Lizzi but resides in her grandfather’s barn, where he boards him and three horses. “I try to ride him at least once a week, sometimes twice,” Lizzi adds, explaining that the whole family, except for dad, are avid horsewomen. She says that her equine activities are her favorite pastime away from school.

Lizzi has yet to find just one thing but enjoys quite a diverse set of interests. She selected choir and Spanish as her freshman electives. An alto, she also takes voice lessons away from school. “These are my favorite school subjects,” she comments. Least favorite, we asked? “Science.” While her achievements aren't as focused athletically, she has played volleyball and basketball and is looking forward to trying out tennis this year.

She studied online during Covid to learn to play the guitar and says that the 2017 musical drama The Greatest Showman is her favorite movie. “On TV, our whole family binge-watched Downton Abbey this last summer, too,” Lizzie reports. "We had to force my dad, ha-ha." She likes to attend school events with her friends and enjoys tubing in New Braunfels and “just hanging out at the lake boating.” Lizzi is active at church, too. Her eyes light up when she describes how the music inspires her. “It's super-musicy, and I really love it,” Lizzi enthuses.
