The O’Neills
2 Parents + 2 Kids + 1 Dog = A Full House
It was love at first click for Robert and Meghan O’Neill. They actually met on a dating app in 2018 while both living in Los Angeles. On their first date, they went for dinner and drinks at a restaurant in Venice. Two years later in March 2020, they got married during the first weekend of the pandemic shutdown. It was a moment that they will never forget.
“We were one of the last marriages in Monterey County for about six months before venues reopened,” they explain. Their wedding was up the coast in Big Sur at a beautiful, outdoor ceremony overlooking the ocean, which was breathtaking.
Since getting married, their love has grown as they expanded their family to include their daughters, Lily and Charlotte. Their 14-year-old Jack Russell named Fletch also rounds out the family with his constant companionship and unconditional love.
As a family of four, there isn’t a lot of free time. Meghan jokes, “We don’t have much time to relax right now with two full-time jobs, a home renovation, a toddler, and an infant, but we look forward to relaxing again one day in the future.”
Moving to Manhattan Beach
In 2020, the O’Neills made the move to Manhattan Beach from West Hollywood. “As our family expanded, we decided to settle down in Manhattan Beach and raise our kids,” they share. Currently, they are currently renovating their residence on 8th Street, transforming their house into a home.
“The Hill Section was the perfect compromise for us.” Meghan wanted to be close to the beach and enjoy the strand, Robert wanted more of a neighborhood feel and some outdoor space. It’s the best of both worlds for Meghan, who hails from central Pennsylvania, and Robert, who has fond memories of growing up in Beverly Hills.
Making Their Mark
Both Robert and Meghan are living their lives with purpose. Robert graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) with a double major in Finance and Accounting, setting him on a path to his current role as the CEO of a real estate company specializing in student housing and urban living in Los Angeles.
Meghan graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, building her career in Human Resources and Technology. Her role in HR Technology at an entertainment company highlights her passion for aiding others in the workplace. “The technology aspect can be like putting the pieces of a puzzle together,” she comments. Fortunately, Meghan loves solving puzzles!
Loving Life with Kids
When not working, it’s all about time spent with their kids. “Our girls are little rays of sunshine,” they explain. Lily, age 2, has a love for singing, dancing, swimming, and visiting Disneyland. Her younger sister Charlotte, at 9 months, is already crawling after her sister and enjoys music class. The family dog, Fletch, is a senior citizen and likes to sit in the front window and watchdogs and people.
As a family, everyone looks up to vacationing in Zihuatanejo, Mexico with extended family every year. They also love taking weekend trips around California, especially to Paso Robles, Big Sur, and Carmel. Hiking in Palos Verdes at Portuguese Bend and Tomales Point as well as Point Reyes is fun for this active family of four.
When you see Robert and Meghan and their daughters out and about, be sure to say hello. You can spot them on family walks with their giant stroller. This happy family is looking to meet more friendly folks here in the neighborhood (and that means you!).
