Hi neighbors!

We're Pixie and Peanut, and if you've spotted two adorable little pups strolling through the neighborhood in matching outfits, that's probably us!

We're both about seven years old and live on Avian Way with our mom, Maryann, and dad, Stan. One of our favorite things in the whole world is going for walks around the neighborhood. Rain, sleet, or snow won't stop us from getting outside, although we have to admit we prefer sunny days. Everywhere we go, people tell us how cute we are, and honestly, we're not going to argue with them!

Our story began long before we arrived in Summerfield Farms. On Labor Day weekend in 2020, our humans adopted us from Joyful Rescues. We had come from a hoarding situation down south and were fortunate to be cared for by the wonderful people at the rescue during the COVID pandemic before finding our forever family.

What makes us extra special is that we've been together through everything and can't imagine life apart. In fact, our humans later discovered that Peanut is deaf. But don't worry, she doesn't let that slow her down one bit! Since we spend nearly every minute together, Peanut uses me, Pixie, as her ears. She loves to cozy right up beside me, and whenever I hear something and perk up, she knows something is happening too.

Speaking of surprises, our mom recently decided to do DNA testing because people were always curious about what breeds we might be. It turns out I'm a purebred Shih Tzu! Peanut, on the other paw, is a mix of seven different breeds. We may not look alike, but one thing is certain: we're both 100% adorable.

We love spending time with our family and making new friends. Visitors are always welcome at our house, both human and furry. We especially enjoy visits from our cousin Pepperoni, the Yorkie.

When we're not out walking, you'll often find us dressed in seasonal outfits. Matching outfits, of course. After all, when you're best friends and sisters at heart, coordinating your wardrobe just makes sense!

We also love traveling to our summer camp at Black Lake, New York, where we spend time enjoying the outdoors and watching beautiful sunsets with our family.

As for our personalities, we're a little different. Peanut loves to be held and would happily cuddle for hours if given the chance. I'm more of a lovable goofball who enjoys making people smile. And if there's one thing everyone should know about me, it's that I absolutely love food, especially CHEESE!

Our journey didn't begin in the easiest way, but today our days are filled with love, belly rubs, neighborhood walks, adventures, and plenty of treats. Most importantly, we have each other.

We may be different in some ways, but together we're the perfect pair.
