Serving as Publisher and Area Director for Stroll Edinburgh is a privilege and a labor of love, but the part I cherish most is sharing the stories that connect our community. For two years, I worked towards building relationships while looking for a partner who would share in the responsibility of writing the most beautiful stories month after month. I prayed for an advocate, ally, and friend. That prayer was answered in March 2026 when Kim Glass joined the Stroll family as our Content Coordinator.

Bringing Kim onto the team was one of my best decisions. With her background in Educational Leadership and refined skills in creative writing, she brought immediate structure, allowing us to expand with new features and include more resident stories in the pages of our neighborhood magazine each month. Her deep roots in Edinburgh have further strengthened our community trust. Beyond the professional growth and improved efficiency, I am incredibly thankful for our friendship and the way our magazine thrives with her as my partner. It is a profound honor to feature her family in this September issue as we celebrate 'The Boys of Fall, and the Girls Who Cheer Them On!'

Tony and Kim Glass have been married for nearly 27 years, but their roots in Gwinnett run even deeper. Both are "native Gwinnettians." Kim grew up in Norcross, while Tony’s family settled in Lawrenceville after his dad retired from the Air Force. Tony graduated from Brookwood High School, meaning the historic Norcross-Brookwood high school rivalry is still alive and well inside the Glass household!

The couple met at Furman University, where Tony played football on a scholarship and earned his degree in Business Administration, while Kim earned her degree in Health and Exercise Science. Later, while teaching full-time and raising a family, Kim earned her Master of Education from UGA and her Ph.D. from Mercer.

In 2013, the family moved from Sugar Hill to Edinburgh. The reason was simple: the growing "Glass Frat" needed a bigger house, they wanted access to the top-tier North Gwinnett cluster schools, and they fell in love with the neighborhood's vibrant social life.

Both Kim and Tony were multi-sport athletes through high school, earning varsity letters across various sports and spending countless hours in athletic training over the years. They’ve passed that passion down to their sons, sharing their abilities not only with their own children but with so many others throughout the community. As the boys grew, both parents stepped up to coach local youth sports, and around Suwanee, Tony is still affectionately known by many as "Coach Tony."

Their two sons have proudly carried on that athletic legacy.

Liam (22): A senior majoring in History at Georgia College and State University, Liam will graduate this December. He spent years under the Friday night lights playing quarterback for North Gwinnett, spanning from 6-year-old GFL football straight through high school. He later continued his playing career as a college quarterback at Birmingham-Southern. After leading his GCSU 7-on-7 team to a championship in 2025, Liam considers himself "retired" from football, opting instead for golf and fishing. Between his strong athletic foundation and his dedication to service, such as his spring break mission trip to Brazil featured in our September 2025 issue, we are confident he is well prepared for his next adventure.

Ewan (17): Readers might remember Ewan as our Athlete of the Month in December 2025. Now a senior at North Gwinnett High School, Ewan is right in the thick of his final high school football season. In addition to his time on the gridiron, Ewan wrestles for North Gwinnett, holds a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and actively trains in Mixed Martial Arts at Creighton MMA in Suwanee. Be sure to check out page xx of this issue, where we highlight Ewan in our Football Feature and share all the exciting details of his senior season!

Kim shares that this autumn, "We're cherishing every moment in the stands, cheering Ewan on through his senior season: the ultimate culmination of our family's deep connection to fall football."

When they aren't on the field, Tony and Kim remain as active as ever. Tony has worked in the mortgage industry for over 25 years and currently serves as Division Manager and Vice President of Lennar Mortgage. To stay fit, he trains daily in his home gym, humorously dubbed "The Blue Shark Athletic Club."

Kim recently retired after a rich, 30-year career in Gwinnett County Public Schools, where she served as a teacher, Certified Athletic Trainer, Technology Coordinator, and elementary/middle school Assistant Principal. Never one to slow down, Kim jokes that she’s "fighting aging using both hands and both feet," staying active with Orange Theory Fitness and yoga. She’s also an avid golfer with a legendary claim to fame: a hole-in-one on Bear's Best hole 6 a few years back!

Rounding out the "Glass Frat" is Beatrix (Miss Bea), who joined the household in late 2025. A former stray turned posh 'Burgh resident, Bea spends her days hunting moles, digging holes, and strutting down Harbury Lane on her daily walks.

Positioned right on the first green of Bear's Best, the Glass home is a natural hub for hospitality. Tony and Kim love entertaining, especially during college football season. Their home has hosted countless warm gatherings, from Georgia Bulldog watch parties and St. Patrick’s Day bashes to competitive Bunco nights, Ugly Christmas Sweater parties, and New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Tony is also a founding member of Edinburgh's own "League of Extraordinary Drinkers," the infamous group in red jackets who gather as self-proclaimed bourbon connoisseurs and experts on sports, grilling, and world affairs.

When asked what they love most about living here, the answer comes easily. The Glass family loves being self-described "homebodies," but as they put it, "Why would we ever leave?" All of our best friends are right here.

As we dive headfirst into another crisp autumn, we want to extend a huge thank you to the Glass family for sharing their story, and to Kim for her endless dedication to making Stroll Edinburgh a publication we can all be proud of.
