Get your thinking caps on and your keyboards ready, Edinburgh! Stroll Edinburgh is excited to announce our upcoming community writing contest. The author of the winning submission will win two tickets to Suwanee’s premier fundraising gala, The Big T'Do, taking place on October 3 at the Artisan: A Gathering Place.
Whether you are a seasoned writer or just looking to share a heartfelt story from the heart, we want to hear from you. Check out the prompt and submission details below to enter for your chance to celebrate for a great cause!
Writing Contest Details
Writing Contest Prompt:
Which family member's traditional dish, funny story, or comforting presence makes Thanksgiving truly feel like home to you, and why are you grateful for that specific tradition?
- Submission Period: Tuesday, September 1 through Monday, Sep 21, 2026.
- Announcement Date: Friday, September 25 via Facebook
Make sure you are following STROLL Edinburgh - Getting to know your neighbors! (Email us at strolledinburgh@strollmag.com if you have not yet joined our private Facebook group) - Eligibility: Entrants must be Edinburgh residents and 21 years or older.
- Submission Limit: Entrants may submit more than one essay.
- File Types: PDF (.pdf) or Microsoft Word (.docx). Submitted via email to strolledinburgh@n2co.com
- Word Count: Up to 500 words
- Originality & AI: All work must be 100% original. Use of AI is not permitted.
- Publication Status: Submissions must be previously unpublished in print, online, or on personal blogs.
- Scoring Rubric: 40% structure, 30% voice/originality, 30% pacing and mechanics
- Author Ownership: The writer retains full copyright to their work with the agreement that it will be published in the November issue of Stroll Edinburgh.
