Meet Cameron

The Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold

If you’ve strolled through the neighborhood trails or spent time at the dog park, you might have had the pleasure of meeting Cameron—a 116-pound gentle giant with a calm spirit and a heart as big as his paws.
Cameron is a Great Pyrenees mix and a true rescue success story. Originally from Alabama, he came into the world under heartbreaking circumstances. After his parents were poisoned, he and his ten siblings were left orphaned. Thankfully, a rescue group stepped in and found loving homes for each puppy—one of which was with his forever family right here in the neighborhood.
When Cameron joined the family, he was already facing a tough start. Diagnosed with hip dysplasia in both hips, he had to undergo surgery at a very young age. But through it all, his sweet, loving nature never wavered. Despite his size, Cameron is known for his incredibly gentle demeanor, especially around small children and other dogs.
His name? A tribute to two beloved stars—Kirk Cameron and Candace Cameron—who inspired the family to give him a name that would be just as endearing as his personality.
Cameron’s favorite things? Well, let’s just say he lives for treats and loves cold weather. When the temperature drops, you’ll often find him lounging outside in the yard, soaking it all in. He’s quirky too—thunderstorms send him hiding behind the curtains, his safe and cozy spot when the world gets too loud.
Around the neighborhood, Cameron enjoys walks on the trails, hanging out at the dog park, and spending time near the Falls Park where he can peacefully birdwatch. And if he could choose any grand adventure? It would absolutely be a food-focused one—because in his world, mealtime is the best time.
To Cameron’s family, the best part about living in the neighborhood is not only the scenic bike trails but the incredible friendships they’ve made. And with Cameron by their side, every day is a little more joyful.
If you see this lovable fluffball around, be sure to say hi—he’ll probably greet you with a wag and a hopeful glance for a treat!
