Nick Richmond is the founder and CEO of Matrix Home Solutions. Matrix is a true design-build company that offers complete basement remodeling, bathroom remodeling, and cabinet refacing. Nick has grown the company from one employee to over 100’s in just 10 short years from the company’s first year in business in 2009. This was done with hard work, passion for business, and grit. Those qualities have brought Nick to where he is today and have helped Matrix Home Solutions land in the Top 50 Qualified Remodelers list in the country.

Nick grew up in the gritty blue-collar town of Flint, Michigan. His upbringing taught him hard work and traditional values from a young age. He is an inspiring example of what can be achieved with dedication and perseverance. He started with nothing but a dream and a true commitment to success. One of Nick’s dreams was to live in the Chicagoland area. That dream slowly began to come to fruition when Nick met his wife Nikki in college. Nikki is an Illinois native, having grown up in Prospect Heights, she is one of the many in the Colletti family. Her family owns Colletti’s Restaurant, which has been in Chicago for almost 80 years. Nick and Nikki fell in love and moved back to Illinois after college. They became fortunate enough to build their dream home right here in Arlington Heights on Bristol Ave. They have 3 amazing children: Grant, Anthony, and Gianna who are 9, 7, and 5 years old. They also have a pug named Bailey. Nick’s neighbors know him for his 3 beautiful children who are always running around, playing and putting smiles on their faces.

Not only does Nick have his dream home in Arlington Heights, but his whole universe revolves around this suburb. Matrix Home Solutions headquarters has been located here for 14 years. Matrix has continued to grow exponentially. For Nick, the most fulfilling part of running the company is providing unmatched remodeling services to their customers knowing that they are going to love what Matrix does for their homes. Nick also loves giving his employees the opportunity to grow with the company. A successful company starts from the top and Matrix can attest to that. To Nick, his employees aren’t just another number but are more like family. Nick has been in this industry his entire adult life and has a work ethic that truly outperforms his competitors. He has an impressive 20 years of home remodeling experience and was even named Industry’s Entrepreneur of The Year in 2013 by Harvard University, Fred Case and Remodeling Magazine. That is what sets Matrix apart from any other remodeling company. Matrix now services 5 locations: Chicagoland, Detroit, Southwest Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nick is now bringing his midwestern work ethic to Southwest Florida. Matrix Home Solutions is the epitome of what can come out of dedication to a dream!

When Nick isn’t hard at work as a CEO, he enjoys fishing, boating, and working out. He doesn’t have that much time for hobbies though, as work and being a father of his 3 children take up most of his time. He is a coach for his sons’ basketball teams where he is instilling the same hard work that brought him to where he is today. He also spends his free time training his children at the Arlington Heights Park District so they can continue to excel in sports and extracurricular activities. Some of Nick’s favorite things to do locally are eating and drinking in Downtown Arlington Heights or taking the Metra Train downtown to the city with friends.

With so many things to be grateful for and to have accomplished, Nick is most thankful for his family and children. All the hard work and time he puts into his business is truly for them. To many, he’s a CEO, but to the most important people in his life, he’s another 3 letter word- dad. His success is ultimately attributed to his family and his very humble beginnings.
