Giving Midlothian Families Their Time Back—One Fold at a Time
In Midlothian, where life moves quickly and family schedules stay full, Deb Arabe of The Laundry Lady LLC – RVA is on a mission to give neighbors something truly valuable: their time back. “We’re here to make life a little lighter for our community, one perfectly folded delivery at a time,” she shares. And when those deliveries arrive, the reactions say it all—“I could see the pure quality of the folds through the packaging… it genuinely stopped me in my tracks,” one neighbor shared.
Deb’s journey began long before launching her business in 2022. “Laundry has always been my hidden superpower,” she says. From her upbringing in Colorado to her time in the Air Force—where she became a self-proclaimed “folding guru”—Deb developed a deep appreciation for the craft. Managing laundry for a busy family of six only sharpened her skills, but it was one disappointing wash-and-fold experience that shaped her business model. “Why spend money only to get back wrinkled, poorly folded clothes that still need work?” she says.
What truly fueled her business, though, was realizing how much time laundry consumes. “I was spending over 10 hours a week on my family’s laundry during busy seasons,” Deb explains. Now, she helps clients reclaim that time for what matters most—whether it’s attending kids’ activities, meeting friends, getting back to the gym, or simply relaxing. As one client shared, “As a busy mom, the relief I felt… is truly indescribable.”
That commitment to excellence is deeply rooted in something even more meaningful. “My Christian faith plays the biggest role in why all of this is working,” Deb explains. “It’s taught me service, integrity, patience, and a deep love for my community.” Those values show up in every detail, from the way each order is handled to thoughtful finishing touches—“The little purple bows… made the entire experience feel so personalized,” one client noted. Another added, “You ladies are truly changing lives with what you do.”
A big part of that experience comes from Deb’s team. “I want my customers to know their laundry lady—not feel like their clothes disappear into a void,” she says. Her company is intentionally not built on gig work. “My team members are valued, trained, and part of something bigger.” With a growing team and dedicated drivers, she has created a culture of care and craftsmanship. Clients notice that difference: “Every item was handled with care… the service is second to none,” and some even affectionately refer to their provider as a “laundry fairy.”
Deb is also looking to bring an innovative edge to her craft. “There’s some fascinating science happening right now with detergent-free cleaning,” she shares, pointing to ozone technology, which uses oxygen molecules in cold water to clean and sanitize clothing. “It’s eco-friendly and incredibly effective—no detergent needed,” she explains. While we are not quite there yet, we do see the real possibility of integrating this ozone technology into our business model for our customers' health and well-being.
For busy families and professionals, her service is more than a convenience—it’s a lifestyle shift. “Laundry takes time, effort, and money—what do you want to get back?” Deb asks. Now serving Salisbury, Rosemont, and beyond, she offers a simple invitation: “Give us a try… see if you feel some relief.
