New Golf Event at Royal Palm Country Club Provides Over 250 Beds for Children in Need.

Royal Palm Country Club resident Neil Gillman dreamt of starting the inaugural Play Fore Beds Premier Golf Event and empowered his neighbors to join Sweet Dream Makers’ mission.

A brand new event caused a stir of electricity throughout the Royal Palm
Country Club community this week as Sweet Dream Makers’ board member Neil Gillman
launched the Inaugural Play Fore Beds Premier Golf Event on Monday, October 25th, 2021.
Golfers and neighbors eagerly accepted the opportunity to enjoy an open-air event and
camaraderie to support Sweet Dream Makers’ mission to provide new beds and bedding for
local children and families in need. The event funded over 250 beds right here in Palm Beach
and Broward County. After a pleasant round on the course, the 80+ golfers celebrated their
unified impact, along with all the organization has accomplished:
● Sweet Dream Makers has provided almost 10,000 beds since incorporating in 2017
● More than 80% of children who receive beds demonstrate significant improvement in
academic performance and behavior
● More than 4,200 families are better rested, stronger, and more prepared to face daily
challenges now that they have a safe and secure place to sleep
● Sweet Dream Makers has become a trusted partner for more than 50 social service
agencies, who refer clients in need of beds
Host Neil Gillman conveyed with overwhelming gratitude that he couldn’t be more thrilled that the
first annual event was such a success, both as an enjoyable day of friendly competition and
an opportunity to give back to a cause he is so passionate about. He looks forward to hosting
the event next year to continue meeting such a staggering need for beds in our community -
between 175 to 300+ are requested each month. Neil’s initiative and motivation cease to waver
as he advocates for the dignity of families right here in South Florida.
