Meet The Bucken Family

Two years after trading downtown Chattanooga for The Enclave, the Buckens are embracing life with two little ones, meaningful family traditions and a neighborhood that feels like its own special community.

Daniel and Danielle Bucken, along with their children, Emma Rose and Henry, will celebrate two years in The Enclave this October. Before making the move, the family lived in downtown Chattanooga, but the neighborhood, pool and location drew them to Riverview. Nearly two years later, those original selling points have become part of a much bigger appreciation for the community they now call home.

There is something particularly special about raising young children in a neighborhood where families are outside, sidewalks stay busy and familiar faces are never too far away. For the Buckens, The Enclave has become a little community tucked within Chattanooga, offering the sense of connection they were looking for while keeping them close to everything they love about the city.

Before becoming the Bucken family we know and love today, Danielle and Daniel first crossed paths on Bumble. Danielle was initially intrigued by something simple, she liked Daniel’s name. That online introduction eventually turned into a marriage, two children and a home filled with plenty of personality.

Their careers have taken them down two very different paths. Danielle attended Mercer University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. She continued her education in graduate school, earning a Master of Medical Science and becoming a physician assistant. Today, she works as a Physician’s Assistant at AFC Urgent Care in Hixson.

Daniel attended Florida State University and earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He now works as a quality manager for Volkswagen Group of America.

At home, much of their world revolves around Emma Rose and Henry. Emma Rose turns three at the end of October and attends Parents’ Day Out at White Oak Baptist Church in Red Bank. Henry recently celebrated his first birthday on September 27.

With two little ones, the Buckens are in a season where family traditions and everyday experiences are quickly becoming childhood memories. Some of their favorites have been made at The Enclave pool, where they enjoy inviting friends and family to spend time together and celebrate summer holidays. It has become more than a neighborhood amenity. It is one of the places that has helped make Riverview feel like home.

Adventure also finds its way into the Bucken household thanks to one of Danielle’s more unusual hobbies, sweepstakes. Her hobby has resulted in some impressive wins, including trips to Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and several destinations across the United States. It is safe to say a little luck has led to some pretty memorable family adventures.

The family also stays connected to the greater Chattanooga community. Danielle is a sustainer with the Junior League, and the Buckens support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chattanooga through events and fundraisers, including the annual Steak & Burger event.

When summer pool days eventually give way to cooler weather, another favorite Bucken tradition takes center stage. Christmas is Danielle’s favorite holiday, thanks to the lights, celebrations and time spent together as a family. Last year, that tradition took on an especially meaningful role while Henry was in the NICU. Danielle was eventually given permission to bring a little Christmas cheer into the season by putting up the family tree early.

That experience may have permanently moved the Bucken family decorating calendar forward. Once Halloween is over, Danielle is ready for Christmas.

Between neighborhood pool days, family adventures, holiday traditions and the everyday joy of raising Emma Rose and Henry, the Buckens are building a life rooted in the community around them. What began as a move from downtown Chattanooga has become a place where their children can grow, their family can gather and new memories can continue to take shape.

And if you happen to see the Buckens out enjoying the neighborhood, there is a good chance they are doing exactly what made them fall in love with The Enclave in the first place, simply enjoying life in their little corner of Chattanooga.
