It’s no secret to most Windsor residents that upon your arrival in historic downtown, you will be greeted by the longstanding name of “Manweiler” adorning the lively street along the 400 block of Main. A name that represents the unique history and German heritage of Windsor and a name that has stood the test of time. In its 77 years of service to the Windsor community, the family-owned and operated establishment has become both common and expected.

With the anticipated transition of ownership to the family’s fourth generation for Manweiler Appliance, they are ready and eager to show you the unexpected.

Christina Miller and Stacy Manweiler, daughters of the current owner, Charlie Manweiler, have been putting in long hours and hard work the past couple of years to shape Manweiler Appliance into their vision for the future. With over 30 years of combined experience working alongside their father, they are ready to take on the challenge.

The sisters have gone through an intensive process of restructuring and rebranding the company, updating its technologies, expanding its product offerings and services, and cultivating a larger and more inclusive “family” to help them run the business.

“Our family has grown, and we are excited to serve our community in a better and more efficient way,” says Stacy. Christina and Stacy’s transition into their new roles overseeing Operations and managing Sales and Marketing respectively has enabled the company to expand the staffing in each department—Sales, Installation, Service and Warehousing. “We knew going into the reorganization process, that to have the best team, we needed to place leaders into those positions in which they will flourish. Moving the right people into the right positions and giving them the ownership and accountability to direct their department has changed this company for the better.”

Manweiler Appliance is a company that prides itself on the professional development of its staff. Senior Service Technician, Victor, the longest-standing, 25-year employee at Manweiler Appliance, has moved into a new role in their service department. His focus now is mentoring new technicians, pre-diagnosing customer repairs and refurbishing used appliances to sell. Many customers may know Victor from his years and expertise in appliance repair inside of their homes, but examining his new role, Christina explains “Victor’s presence in-store has been amazing for our customers, technicians, and sales staff. He is a wealth of knowledge and is always eager to help.”

Two of Manweiler's previous lead installers, Oscar and Carlos, have also changed roles. Oscar completed advanced Service Technician training last summer in Cleveland, Ohio and Carlos recently was awarded a full scholarship to attend the same training this summer. In the Installation department, Jordan, a 10-year employee of Manweilers, has taken on the role of Installation Manager and has almost single-handedly been the recipient of many of the company’s stellar online customer reviews. Manweiler Appliance has also expanded its Sales team to include three dedicated sales staff, Austin, Christy, and Andrew. In their short time as a team, they have accounted for over 80% of the total sales volume for the company.

Manweiler Appliance has also set focus on an improved customer experience. The launch of their new and fully functional website allows customers to view their products, request quotes and purchase their appliances online. New communication tools through text messaging and online chat have given Manweiler Appliance the upper hand in being able to immediately assist customers who are on their website. The recent expansion of their brand portfolio to include more luxury lines of appliances, like Jenn Air, has been an exciting addition to their core appliance offerings. “It’s important that we evolve and look for more ways to serve a broader market,” Christina explains. “We have a plan in place to add additional product lines as time goes on, and our goal is to become the one-stop-shop for everything kitchen, laundry and outdoor cooking.” Christina and Stacy also have a future vision to provide “customer experience displays” in their showroom, which would include live and fully functional appliances, product demonstrations, cooking classes and more after-hours events for the community.

If one thing is clear, the future looks promising for the continued presence of the Manweiler name in downtown Windsor. What you will notice is a renewed culture of treating customers like family, an expectation to provide excellent service from experienced and knowledgeable staff and an unwavering commitment to be of value to their community. Next time you’re in need of anything related to appliances, stop by Manweilers and you’ll be welcomed with a friendly and familiar smile.

Testimonials - I don't think there is room for all of them, but please use as many as you can.

From start to finish, our Manweiler experience was something to cheer about! We were immediately welcomed by a knowledgeable salesperson who assessed our needs and made a couple of recommendations. Their customer service was top notch, and their delivery date and time was set before we left the store. Their delivery team was courteous, on time and proficient. I am very happy with our choice to patronize a local small business and we will definitely return to Manweiler for any appliance need. - Lynette D.

Excellent service, knowledgeable and helpful staff, prompt delivery and installation... you can't ask for a better experience! 100%. Thanks, Manweiler Appliances! - Maria M.

I have purchased appliances from Manweiler Appliance for my home and for rentals that I managed for the last 20 plus years. They have quality stock and if they don’t have it in the store they can order it for you. The staff are polite, and extremely helpful. They schedule appointments for delivery and are on time. The technicians know what they’re doing and answer any questions you might have. I will absolutely continue to use them in the future. If you need appliances, they are definitely the people to call! - Renee J.

Manweiler’s is the place to go if you need appliances. Charlie and his staff are always friendly and professional. The installation always goes smoothly. I’d recommend them without question! - Jeremy H.

Last week our twenty year old washing machine decided it was tired and quit working...we went over to Manweiler's Appliances and purchased a new washer and dryer - they quickly delivered it two days later.  After they left, I attempted to start the washing machine and realized it was more complex and technical than I had thought- so I drove over to Manweiler's and vented my frustration with the salesperson - he recommended that we schedule a service call, so someone could come over and go over all of the 'buttons and settings' - at 8:30 the following morning our phone rang and a voice said 'this is Charlie Manweiler and if it's convenient I'll come over and go over the controls of your machine.  He immediately came over, was very patient with me, explaining all of the controls and settings (he even went over the details of the dryer) to make sure I didn't have any questions.  The point of my story is:  if you want great service and feel like your business is appreciated, you need to shop and support small and local businesses! - Nancy D.
