Their move was marked by a memorable first walk where a lemonade stand incident ended with them receiving free lemonade, reflecting the community’s charm. The location holds special significance for Shauntay, a proud Charleston native whose fifth-generation ancestors were once enslaved in the region. Now, as a homeowner in the neighborhood, Shauntay finds great meaning in the transformation of the land where her family once suffered, taking pride in the resilience of her lineage. Fabio, originally from Vicenza, Italy, brings his culture to their home, a blend that defines their family life. Living in the charming Old Village, the Brocca family thrives on staying active, embracing their cultural heritage, and building connections with their community.

Flora, a doodle, was turned into Pet Helpers after someone found her and her sister wandering around James Island. Pet Helpers had her for about a week before the Golub family picked her up to foster her in January. "She is the absolute sweetest girl," shared Kira. She is calm and happy and was VERY pregnant when she arrived to the Golub family. All of her puppies looked the exact same. They wore tiny velcro collars so the family could tell them apart and make sure they were all gaining the appropriate amount of weight daily.
