Meet Your Neighbors
The Delamater family—Josh, Lauren, and their three children, Mia, Tommy, and Max—made the leap from Chicago suburbs to Old Mount Pleasant nine years ago, drawn by the area's atmosphere. "We came to visit them about 13 years ago, and we just couldn’t believe such a magical place existed. We knew right away that we wanted to raise our kids here," Lauren shared. They appreciate the diversity of homes in Old Mount Pleasant and the tight-knit feel of the community they chose to raise their children in. The family loves the area's walkability and proximity to the water, which was a key reason for their move. They often visit the beach to surf, soak up the salt air, and spend time at the Pitt Street Bridge. Their favorite local spots include OV Wine Shop, Post House, and Coastal Crust. They also actively build community, having started neighborhood block parties on their street. Lauren and Josh describe the neighborhood as "a little piece of Mayberry" that perfectly balances tradition and community.

Precious Pets
Fletch is the Frenkel family's wonderful mystery rescue dog. He loves the Sullivans Island beach and will swim for days if allowed. He also loves Speights Field in Old Village near our house and the Center Street Beach. He doesn't discriminate and will play with any dog he comes across...unless there is a ball in play—in which case, he only has eyes for the ball.

Moultrie Matters
Habiba Alquza shared insights into Moultrie teachers' lives outside of their classrooms in an article titled "Between Lessons and Lullabies". "Long before the first school bell rings, some teachers have already lived an entire day—rising before dawn, soothing a fussy baby, rinsing bottles under the soft, sleepy light of the kitchen...Teachers are more than educators. They’re parents and partners—resilient and quietly heroic, showing up fully in both worlds," wrote Habiba.
