Meet Your Neighbors
The Hankey family—Brett, Jennifer, Holland, Hayden, two whippets (Daisy and Jack), and two cats (Winston and Oliver)—are deeply engaged neighbors on Pitt Street. They moved to the Old Village in 2020, seizing the pandemic opportunity to relocate to their dream location. While they loved their house, it was too small. Village Restoration helped add two additional bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. They lived in four rental houses with two dogs, a cat, an au pair and two kids over six months. "It was crazy but totally worth it! We always say it was the best decision we ever made," shared Jennifer, "The Old Village is such a special place and a one of a kind neighborhood to raise children." The Hankeys are best known for creating a strong sense of community, particularly through their elaborate Halloween celebrations. They host the famous Skelly Show, inviting the whole neighborhood to connect. The Hankey family has found the Old Village, which they affectionately call "a trip back in time," to be the perfect place to raise their daughters.
Precious Pets
Ella, a Scottie terrier rescue, is a sweetie, and she’s spoiled. Her mama, Rebecca, is her stylist, so she loves to get a hair cut by her. She was Rebecca's best friend and my little shadow—keeping her company through so many seasons of life.
Sponsor of the Month
When Sujith Varghese opened Spice Palette Indian Cuisine in 2022, his goal was to create a space that feels both authentic and inviting. "I wanted to introduce guests to the diverse flavors of India in a way that feels approachable, while still honoring traditional recipes and ingredients. Every dish on the menu is inspired by my family’s roots in South India, but we also draw from culinary influences across the country." The mission is simple: To bring people together through great food and create a space where guests can explore Indian cuisine in a way that feels genuine, warm, and memorable.
