I am a sophomore attending Porter-Gaud School.
What is an area you're particularly talented in?
Regarding my business I am talented in working hard to meet customer satisfaction, as I know I am still learning. I always appreciate constructive feedback that my clients share with me.
What inspired you to get started with your business:
I was inspired to start Tommy’s Lawn Care so I could be my own boss. I felt independent and I wanted to make my own money for myself.
What do you enjoy most about it?
What I enjoy most about my business is meeting new people and having a certain feeling of accomplishment when I finish my jobs.
Is there something that makes you unique in this business?
I strive to do things the right way, and to provide responsive action to every client regardless of the size of the job. I understand that the most important job is yours and we will provide an efficient and detailed-oriented lawn care service to satisfy you.
What is your proudest moment? Who do you have to thank for helping you get there?
My proudest moment is acquiring enough business to fill up my schedule. I have my clients to thank for helping me succeed at this point because I know I couldn't do it without them. I appreciate them supporting Tommy’s Lawn Care.
Who is someone you admire? Why?
I admire many people. I admire these people for many reasons, these reasons are as follows: they are kind, respectable men and women. They are humble, honest and willing to help.
What advice do you have for others looking to get into your line work?
My advice to others who get into my line of work is to push through and don't give up even if it is hard. Don't make excuses of why you cannot work or do a certain job. I know it can be hot and miserable when you're working outside for long periods of time. I've done it all the time, but you need to power through and have a feeling of accomplishment which never hurts.
Beyond your business, what do you like to do? Are you involved with any sports or extracurricular activities? If you were to continue practicing your talent, hope to become or accomplish someday:
Beyond my business, I enjoy being out in nature, from going out on the Boat in Charleston Harbor to fish or hangout with friends and family, to going to the countryside to hunt and hangout as well. I am hoping to continue practicing my talent all through high school. I would like to accomplish getting enough clients to be able to hire a few workers, and have another truck with a route of its own. As well as being able to be as proficient and efficient as Tommy’s Lawn Care can be.
