We Came for One Kitty… and Came Home with Two

Kayla’s 16th-birthday wish turned into twice the kitten chaos — and the perfect addition to this busy family.

When Kayla was turning 16, she had one birthday wish: a new kitty.
The family had previously loved two orange brothers, but sadly, both had passed away. Their remaining calico cat was now on her own, and without a feline friend to chase around the house, she was getting a little lonely — and, quite frankly, a little too comfortable with the food bowl!
So the family headed to the shelter with a simple mission: find her a friend.
And then they met Val and Clem.
The two kittens immediately stood out, but there was just one problem: they were brothers, and they were bonded. Separating them wasn’t an option.
So the family did what any animal-loving household would do: they brought home both.
Instead of adding one new kitty to the family, they suddenly had two — bringing the grand feline total to three, plus a dog. Add four kids to the mix, and it’s safe to say their house is rarely quiet.
Val and Clem are both boys, with names short for Valentine and Clementine, chosen by Kayla.
The brothers have been a perfect pair, bringing plenty of personality, playfulness and, undoubtedly, a little extra chaos to the household. And while the original plan may have been one kitten, the family can’t imagine it any other way.
With four kids and a whole collection of furry family members, life at their house is definitely busy. But they wouldn’t trade the craziness for anything.
After all, there’s always room for one more — or, apparently, two.
