Homemade Taco Seasoning

After searching high and low for a store-bought seasoning packet free from soy, MSG, and artificial ingredients, I decided to create my own! Since then, I’ve never looked back—this homemade taco seasoning is fresh, flavorful, and completely customizable.

This seasoning is a staple in our household! It’s quick to make, uses pantry staples, and tastes even better than store-bought mixes. We use it for tacos, enchiladas, and even to spice up grilled meats.

Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 4 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground oregano
  • 2 teaspoons white granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried cilantro (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
  2. Transfer to an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place.
  3. For tacos, add 3-4 tablespoons of seasoning and ¾ cup of water to 1 pound of ground meat. Simmer until thickened.
  4. Use this seasoning for enchiladas (beef or chicken) or as a spice rub for grilled meats.
