Taking Action, Building Community. A Brokerage Built on Gratitude and Grit

Walk into the office at Take Action Realty Group and you will likely be greeted by two enthusiastic dogs before you meet anyone from the team. Luna and Groot have unofficially claimed the role of welcoming committee, a fitting introduction to a brokerage built around relationships and community.
That same spirit carries into everything the company does.
When Monte opened Take Action Realty Group on June 14, 2023, the goal was not simply to build another real estate brokerage. The vision was to create a team environment rooted in gratitude, accountability, and long term relationships. A place where agents support one another, clients remain connected long after closing, and the surrounding community benefits along the way.
“If someone works with us once and we never hear from them again, we probably did not do our job the right way. The goal is to stay connected for years.” Monte often says.
Today, Take Action Realty Group serves buyers, sellers, and investors across Northeast Wisconsin. Some are purchasing their first home. Others are selling after decades in the same house. Many are building investment portfolios. The team approaches every situation with education, strategy, and clear communication so people can make informed decisions.
One of the ways the brokerage stays connected is through something they call Lifetime Home Support.
The relationship does not end at closing. Clients have access to a moving truck on closing day, trusted vendor connections, community events, and discounted use of the company’s event space. Some clients return years later for another move. Others show up for events or simply to stay connected.
Real estate becomes the starting point of the relationship, not the end of it.
That philosophy also led to another business on the property.
Monte converted a large garage into a small event venue that now hosts showers, parties, corporate gatherings, and celebrations throughout the year. Operating from that space is The Haven Collective, a decor and rental company run by Monte’s wife, Shannon. Haven provides tables, chairs, linens, decor rentals, and small event planning services across Northeast Wisconsin.
What started as a way to host client appreciation events quickly grew into a business helping families celebrate weddings, birthdays, and milestones.
The brokerage also hosts several community events throughout the year. One of the largest is their annual Halloween fundraiser, Fright Fest, which brings together local businesses, sponsors, and community members to raise money for local charities.
Last year’s event featured Monte’s friend and client, Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons, who joined Monte on stage at EPIC Event Center for a conversation with the crowd. Wisconsin country band Bella Cain performed live during the event. The night brought together hundreds of people from across the region and raised significant funds for local charitable organizations.
The team plans to bring Fright Fest back again this year. The band lineup and potential guest appearances are still being finalized, and the group is currently welcoming sponsors interested in supporting the event and the local causes it benefits.
Behind the scenes, the brokerage is powered by a small but driven team.
Jenna Smith plays a major role in the leadership and culture of the company. As Brand and Culture Strategist, she helps shape the voice of the brokerage, manage marketing initiatives, and support agents as they grow their businesses. Jenna also works closely with Monte on strategy and operations, helping ensure the company continues moving forward with clarity and consistency.
Erin Kornely joined the team with a strong work ethic and quickly became a key part of the daily operation. Erin helps support transactions, agent needs, and the many moving parts that come with running a busy brokerage. Around the office she is known for her positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever help is needed.
Rob Metcalf brings a unique combination of skills to the team. As both a licensed contractor and real estate agent, Rob helps bridge the gap between construction and real estate strategy. Whether reviewing inspection items, evaluating renovation potential, or helping with investment projects, Rob brings practical insight to the conversation. Around the office he has also earned the unofficial title of “doer of all things,” which usually means if something needs fixing, building, moving, or figuring out, Rob is probably already working on it.
Taylor Miller also played an important role in the early stages of the brokerage by helping re ground the company’s branding and messaging as the business began to grow.
Together the team shares a common mindset. Support each other. Keep learning. Take care of the people who trust them with one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
The foundation for the brokerage began several years earlier.
Monte first entered real estate as an investor in April of 2018 when he purchased his first property. What began as a single investment quickly grew into a larger opportunity. Within a year he earned his real estate license, followed by his broker’s license before eventually opening Take Action Realty Group.
His background includes business ownership, sales, and years spent working with families through athletic recruiting. Those experiences shaped how he approaches leadership today. Focus on education. Develop people. Create opportunities for others.
Like many entrepreneurs, the early days included a few hard lessons.
One of Monte’s first investment projects resulted in a financial setback after a contractor stole funds from the job. Instead of walking away, the experience forced him to quickly learn how to properly vet contractors, manage projects, and protect investments moving forward. The lesson was not easy, but it helped shape the practical perspective he now shares with many investor clients.
Recognition has followed his work in real estate. Monte has been named Agent of the Year for both the City of Green Bay and Brown County through Rate My Agent.
He also hosts the American Dream TV show Selling Wisconsin, where he highlights unique communities, local businesses, and stories from across Northeast Wisconsin. If someone knows a local business, hidden gem, or unique place in the area that deserves attention, Monte encourages people to reach out and share the story.
Outside of work, Monte remains deeply connected to Northeast Wisconsin. Raised in Pulaski, he now lives in the Howard Suamico area with Shannon and their two dogs, Luna and Groot.
Community involvement remains a core part of the company culture. Take Action Realty Group regularly supports local events, nonprofits, and charitable efforts throughout the year.
One organization especially meaningful to Monte is GRIT920 in Green Bay. Volunteering with kids and individuals with differing abilities has provided a perspective that carries into both life and leadership. It is a reminder that success is measured by more than business achievements.
For homeowners across Northeast Wisconsin, the advice from the Take Action Realty Group team remains straightforward. Stay informed and rely on real data when making real estate decisions.
Communities like Ledgeview remain strong markets due to location, schools, and quality of life. At the same time, homeowners benefit from focusing on comparable sales and realistic expectations when evaluating property value.
Smaller improvements such as paint, lighting, flooring updates, and routine maintenance often protect home value better than waiting for large renovation projects. Sellers benefit from planning early, while investors should remain patient and run conservative numbers in competitive markets.
Inside the brokerage, the philosophy remains simple.
Stay curious. Work hard. Take care of people.
Because in the end, real estate is not just about buying or selling homes. It is about building relationships, strengthening communities, and helping people move forward long after the closing table is cleared.
