Helping Teen Challenge

Special thank you to Tina Craft for planning this event and donations by Lake Forest Residents

Tina Craft is at it again!

She put together a ‘Fill the Truck’ campaign and asked, Hearts, Hands and Hope (HHH), who could benefit from the non food items?

Teen Challenge was the first one of the list- as they have a truck and a Super Thrift store that could use items to help others in need.

Lake Forest had a goal of eeding 100 families and guess what.........Lake Forest met that goal!

About Hearts, Hands and Hope

The Hearts, Hands, and Hope Food Bag Program, the First Phase of our Three Phase System, is focused on food insecure children because we believe no child should be hungry.
Hearts, Hands, and Hope established the Three Phase System to be a solution to food insecurity.

The main role of Hearts, Hands and Hope Inc. (HHH) in their Three Phase System is to provide nutritious meals to children and families in food insecure households, through the Food Bag Program.
Children who are eligible to receive free or reduced lunches often go hungry when school is not in session.
The Food Bag Program provides each eligible child with a bag of food that contains enough food for fourteen (14) nutritious meals.
This is estimated to serve 4-6 people. These bags are distributed weekly, so children have sufficient food every week.

The focus areas of mental health, preventative health care, and workforce development are addressed in Phases Two and Three.
HHH works in collaboration with Orlando Health to ensure that families receive basic health care such as the necessary childhood vaccines, annual physicals, and mental health screenings.
In Phase Three, the primary wage earner in the household is connected with CareerSource of Central Florida and GFG Benefits to secure stable employment.

The HHH Food Bag Program currently supports more than six hundred children (600) each week, which is 31,200 children a year.
Our plan is to increase the number of children we support to 62,400 a year by end of 2024.

HHH has delivered more than 1.85 million meals to food insecure children and helped 81 families move from food insecurity to food security.
Hearts, Hands, and Hope has seen a 23% increase in demand for the Food Bag Program since the pandemic and currently has a waiting list for its services.

Volunteers are the heart behind Hearts, Hands, and Hope.
Our volunteers help sort, pack, and deliver food bags each week.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with our weekly food bag packings and deliveries.

Volunteers can sign up on our website at www.hearts-hands-hope.org.
Other ways to help are recurring financial donations.
https://hearts-hands-hope.org/donate-today as 87.5% of all donations go directly to buy food from our food partners at a reduced rate and ensures the stability for the continuation of services.

About Teen Challenge:
Teen Challenge Southeast offers twenty-one locations in six states for adults and teenagers.  Our six adolescent programs — three for boys and 3 for girls — are full-time boarding schools for ages 12-17 that are specifically designed to help improve the behavior and academics of troubled teenagers.  Our fifteen adult residential programs for men and women are long-term alternatives to addiction treatment.  All programs are year-round and last from 12-15 months.  We also offer outpatient addiction and life recovery counseling through our Hope Counseling service.

For over 60 years, Teen Challenge has pioneered ridding individuals of life-controlling issues, behaviors, and harmful addictions.  While our adolescent boarding school programs help teenagers deal with inappropriate behavior, lack of motivation, or failing academics, our single-gender adult residential programs are wholly focused on lifetime recovery from addictions that are destroying the individual’s life and future.
