Precision, Purpose, and the Art of Feeling Like Yourself

A Hidden Lake neighbor and globally recognized facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Vincent McGinniss offers a thoughtful, full-spectrum approach to aesthetics. His work is defined by precision, honesty, and natural-looking results.

In a community like Hidden Lake, where relationships matter and trust is built over time, it’s not often that a neighbor is also recognized on a global stage for their work.

Dr. Vincent McGinniss, his wife Sandra, their children Vanessa (11) and Liam (7), and their dog Jazzy have called Hidden Lake home since May 2023. Many neighbors know them simply as a kind, down-to-earth family. What some may not fully realize is that just minutes away in Brighton, Dr. McGinniss leads Elements Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics—a practice known for both nationally recognized surgical work and a full-service medspa experience.

Dr. McGinniss’ path to this level of expertise is both extensive and highly specialized. After serving as a flight surgeon for the United States Air Force, he completed advanced residency and fellowship training focused on the face, ears, nose, and throat. His work has earned multiple awards at the Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Medicine World Congress (AMWC), where he has also been invited to serve as a judge—an honor reserved for surgeons trusted by peers worldwide. He has also been recognized at The Aesthetic Show and the Miami Cosmetic Surgery Meeting, and continues to teach and mentor physicians in his field.

“I love what I do because of what it does for someone’s confidence,” he shared. “When a patient comes in feeling like they have to hide something… and then they leave feeling like themselves again… that’s everything.”

For some, that means restoring symmetry after injury or facial paralysis. For others, it’s subtle refinements—lifting heaviness, softening fatigue—so their appearance reflects how they actually feel.

“They’re not trying to look different,” he explained. “They just want to feel like themselves again.”

While many associate plastic surgery with dramatic change, his work is grounded in restraint and precision—restoring balance in a way that feels natural and aligned.

“Most people don’t need more,” he explained. “They need the right things, done the right way.”

For many, that process begins with the medspa—an approachable entry point focused on improving skin health and confidence without surgery. Elements offers treatments including customized facials, corrective skincare, chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, PRP, and injectables such as neuromodulators and dermal fillers. Each is designed to restore tone, improve texture, and maintain natural-looking results over time, all under the guidance of a highly trained facial plastic surgeon.

That level of expertise also comes with a strong emphasis on patient awareness.

“One of the biggest things I tell people is to really understand who is performing your procedure,” he said. “In many cases, different types of doctors—even outside of this specialty—are legally allowed to perform cosmetic procedures. That doesn’t mean they have the training or experience to do it well. Ask how many times they’ve performed the procedure you’re considering—not just if they can do it, but how often they actually do it. That matters.”

“There’s a lot out there that can be smoke and mirrors,” he added. “If something isn’t going to work, I’ll say that—and then help patients understand the options that will truly support the outcome they’re looking for.”

That clarity is part of what led him to build his own practice after years in hospital systems.

“Hospitals are where you go when something is wrong,” he explained. “But this is different. You should have time to talk through everything and feel confident in your decisions.”

That vision became Elements Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics—a space where patients are not rushed, conversations are open, and the focus is on doing what is right, not what is popular.
“If you feel rushed, that’s a red flag,” he said. “You should have time to ask questions and understand your options.”

At the core of his work is a simple idea. “Confidence isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about feeling like yourself again.”

And while his work has taken him onto global stages, home is what grounds it all.

For the McGinniss family, Hidden Lake offers a place to slow down, spend time together, and stay connected. Whether it’s time on the lake, walks with Jazzy, or simply being surrounded by neighbors and friends, it’s the everyday moments that matter most.

It’s also what continues to shape how he shows up—both in his work and in his life. Care. Presence. Intention. And a deep commitment to delivering the best possible results—done the right way, every time.
