Noah Machado is an 8th-grade student at Midlothian Middle School having a passion for music – specifically the drums.  Machado is a student at the School of Rock Midlothian located near Hull Street and 288.  His family has lived in Hallsley for 13 years and he enjoys his surroundings and the people in his neighborhood.  His interest in drums has actively grown over the last 6 years.  His parents found the new School of Rock location and took him for a tour and trial experience where he was instantly hooked.  He said, “The feeling and energy I get with playing with my bandmates makes the songs so much fun to perform.”

Noah is in his second season at School of Rock.  His first one was the Classic Metal show.  He got to play metal favorites like “Livin After Midnight” by Judas Priest and “Paranoid” by Black Sabbath in front of a packed house at Uptown Alley.   He is currently in the Rock N Grohl show featuring Dave Grohl-inspired hits from bands like Nirvana and the Foo Fighters.  Noah is excited to see his skills and abilities grow as a drummer.  Just as important is the fact he has made new friends with the same music passion he has.  He also was able to convince a friend of his to come to the School of Rock to be a student with him.

He has gotten pretty good at balancing his activities in both his academic school and the School of Rock by being organized and paying close attention to his time management.   He knows his academics come first so he can participate in his music endeavors.  “Time management and scheduling are important so I can do what I love to do.”

Noah says he admires and is motivated by his dad.  “He encourages me to be better and achieve my goals.”  He also appreciates his mom helping him to make his dream work.  His School of Rock instructor categorizes him as an ideal student.  He comes “…to lessons and rehearsals with energy and passion.  He is ready to learn, and you can tell he practices his material.  He is a great advocate for his bandmates by being encouraging and supportive not only from behind the drum kit – but when he is in the wings waiting his turn.”

He encourages anyone who wants to learn how to play music to come visit him at the School of Rock Midlothian.  You can check out their webpage www.midlothian.schoolofrock.com to sign up for a tour and trial experience to see how they teach music differently in a way that brings the energy of bandmates and show crowds to make it so much better.

Noah wants to continue his music journey and continue to grow as a musician once he gets to high school and beyond.   Hopefully even obtaining music-related scholarships for college.  For now – he will enjoy being an 8th grader playing drums and becoming a better musician.
