BOLD Real Estate

Nestled near the beautiful Governors Club neighborhood lies a real estate company with a heart for giving back. BOLD Real Estate, co-owned by Chris and Jill Ehrenfeld, has been a fixture in the area for over a decade, supporting the local community in numerous ways.
The Ehrenfelds' ties to the Governors Club run deep. Having lived in the neighborhood for 25 years, Chris built his first home in Governors Village after graduating from UNC in 1998. His Mother, Jill, built her first home in the Governors Club around the same time. “I was overwhelmed by the natural beauty as soon as I first drove through the gate. I knew this was a magical place I wanted to call ”home,” said Jill.
Since then, both have moved several times within the Governors Club. Chris and his family, his wife Jana and their 10-year-old twin boys Max and Mason, are currently building a custom home with his building company, BOLD Construction, on Cherry.
Their love for the area and desire to provide a higher level of real estate service to its residents, led Chris and Jill to open the BOLD Real Estate office in Governors Village in 2005. Over time, the business grew, and in 2012, they acquired Governors Club Realty.
“This was a huge investment, but an important investment as we recognized that a thriving real estate office at the front gate was essential to having a thriving community,” said Chris.
Since acquiring Governors Club Realty, BOLD helped re-establish the brand as the #1 brokerage firm in the area. Governors Club Realty sells more homes, and its homes sell at higher prices than homes listed with other firms. “If you want to sell your property for the highest value, call the experts,” says Scott Kelley, an agent with more than 25 years of experience selling the Governors Communities.
BOLD Real Estate’s commitment to the community goes beyond expert real estate services. In 2015, Chris and his wife, Jana, took over the Angel Tree Holiday Gift Program at North Chatham School, which provides holiday gifts to Chatham children in need.
Thanks to the support of the Governors Club Country Club and our generous neighbors, the Holiday Gift Program blossomed. Picture the excitement of 225 kids in Chatham waking up to a huge bag of gifts for the holidays!
The excitement served as the impetus to create a non-profit, the BOLD Foundation, fueled by the synergy of BOLD Real Estate, BOLD Commercial Real Estate, BOLD Construction, and BOLD Development Group. By creating a non-profit, they were able to grow the Holiday Gift Program to reach more children and create additional programs. BOLD Foundation also provides regular volunteer opportunities for BOLD employees, including providing back-to-school supplies, snacks for kids while at school, and books for hundreds of children to read over the summer.
The BOLD Foundation is not just a philanthropic endeavor, but a core part of the BOLD brand. All BOLD companies donate to the BOLD Foundation with every transaction they make.
“We feel that it is so important as an integral part of the local area to support those in need in our greater local community,” said Chris. Jill echoed this sentiment, stating, “We love the Governors community. We live here; we work here; we love it here. And we are thankful for the continued support of our neighbors. We wouldn’t be here without you.”
