Red, White & Blue Patriotic Sweet Treat!

Looking for a simple, deliciously decadent July 4th Celebration Desert? This is it! Strawberry Blueberry Trifle A beautiful red, white, and blue dessert layered with cake, homemade whipped cream, and fresh berries!

Ingredients
 
  • 1 pound cake or angel food cake, cubed
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 3 cups Homemade Whipped Cream (Recipe below)
Instructions 
 
Pudding
Whisk vanilla pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.

Homemade Whipped Cream
Blend 3 cups very cold Heavy Cream and 3/4 cup sugar until soft peak forms (consistency of whipped cream) 
 
Layer the trifle
  • In a large trifle bowl or clear dish, add a layer of cake cubes.
  • Spoon strawberries and blueberries over the cake layer.
  • Spread pudding and whipped topping over the berries.
  • Repeat layers
  • Continue layering cake, berries, and cream until the dish is full. 
Decorate
Top with extra strawberries, blueberries, and whipped topping for a festive patriotic look.
 
Chill
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
