This month's "Yard of the Month" is bestowed upon the Kornblau family.  I came across their lovely manicured yard while walking the dog.  I made a mental note of its location to drive by a little bit later to leave a note. And when I came back by, it turned out that my favorite landscape artists (SoHo Landscape) happened to be their caretakers. So eventually I was able to get in touch with them. But it's easy to see why it's such a lovely lawn and garden. He's got different layers of color and texture everywhere! 

Years ago, I liked to incorporate bright pots in my landscape, and then at some point I came to my senses.  I started doing what these guys are doing, and I went with a nice gray concrete and let the flowers speak for themselves. Beautiful simple urns overflowing with bright, colorful flowers. And that way it's just the plants that talk to you.
