Celebrating America's 250th Birthday

From sea to shining sea, millions of Americans gathered to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Here in Kinderton Village, we marked the occasion in unforgettable fashion with what was undoubtedly our largest and most spirited Fourth of July celebration yet.
Although the morning dawned hot and humid, the soaring temperatures did little to dampen the excitement. Residents, families, pets, and visitors filled the streets dressed in red, white, and blue as they eagerly awaited a parade that perfectly captured the pride, patriotism, and close knit spirit of our community.
Leading the parade was the Smith Grove Fire Department, followed by the Davie County Sheriff's Office and our Grand Marshals, Pat and Bonnie Russell. Behind them came a festive procession of decorated scooters, bicycles, strollers, golf carts, and other patriotic displays. Steve and Traci Beer added a touch of classic style in their beautiful sports car, while the Sheriff's Office proudly brought up the rear, helping ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone.
Following the parade, neighbors gathered at the community pool for an afternoon of delicious food, lively entertainment, and wonderful fellowship. Ronnie Woodall and the Rock and Roll Soul Band kept the celebration going with energetic live music while guests enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs expertly prepared by Lennie Ring, Jason Jackson, and Boy Scouts of America Troop 732.
Special thanks go to Lowe's Foods for its generous food donations and to Sign Gypsy Christin Howard for the creative patriotic artwork that added an extra festive touch throughout the celebration.
This memorable day would not have been possible without the dedication of Kinderton Village's Community Engagement Committee: Cathy Ring, Shelley Hundley, Charlene Genaway, Rebecca Woodall, Angel Jackson, Missie Crews Flanagan, and Barbara Turner. Their countless hours of planning and hard work created a celebration filled with laughter, music, friendship, patriotism, and memories that will last for years to come.
As the festivities came to a close, one thing was abundantly clear. Living in Kinderton Village means more than simply having wonderful neighbors. It means being part of a community that celebrates together, serves together, and creates lasting memories together. It was a Fourth of July celebration worthy of America's 250th birthday.
