A Cycling Extravaganza in Piedmont North Carolina
For the past 15 years, Farmington Community Events Center has been hosting the annual fall Tour of Farmington road cycling event. This new spring event will complement the “TOF” with a festival centered in downtown Mocksville, where participants can experience local restaurants and shopping as well as the vendors and entertainment in town for the weekend. The Davie Chamber of Commerce, Town of Mocksville Tourism, and Town of Bermuda Run Tourism have joined FCEC in hosting this festival. Other local businesses have also sponsored the event to make it an amazing weekend in our area.

What to Expect
The 2024 NC Cycling Festival has something for everyone, not just cyclists. The weekend starts on Friday evening, April 19th, with a VIP dinner for sponsors and others who are involved with the event. Following that, the live entertainment kicks off with an incredible Elton John tribute at The Station at 8 pm. Another opportunity for live music for the late-night crowd is Nunya Bizness appearing at 4 Oaks Tavern beginning at 10 pm that evening.
Saturday, April 20th the day begins at 9 am with the Classic Bike Show located at the Brock Gym at 644 N. Main Street. Also at that location, starting at 9 am, former professional and Olympic cyclist Brent Bookwalter, joined by Brazilian former professional cyclist Vitor Schizzi and local attorney and ironman triathlete David Daggett will host a roundtable discussion of professional cycling. Autograph sessions and meet and greets will be available after the presentation. A local antique bike collector and restoration specialist, Walt Gannon, will be presenting at 11 am.

The family-friendly fun continues at the Davie County Library where kids can participate in a bike rodeo and decorate their bikes for the family bike parade! The activities begin at 10 am and the family bike parade starts at noon and will travel from the library down North Main Street, turning on West Depot and ending at Cognition.

Continue down North Main Street to Court Square where a vendor fair will be set up with hand-made artisan crafts, baked goods and more. Food trucks will also be there with delicious choices. For the kiddos, inflatables will be at the parking lot beside Town Hall.

Beginning at 1 pm, the cyclists participating in the Gran Fondos and VeloQuest will depart Davie YMCA and make their way down North Main Street on the way to their routes throughout Davie County. The metric century (63 mile) route will ride to Bermuda Run, circle Davie Medical Center, and then come back to the YMCA.

At 2 pm, the live entertainment will begin on the Sound Stage presented by SES. Bring your bag chair and get ready to be entertained at this free concert that lasts until 10 pm, complete with a beer and wine garden by Gypsy on the Road Brewing Company!! A great lineup of performers will provide music including southern rock, bluegrass, pop and beach. Late night entertainment by Chasin Gophers will be at 4 Oaks Tavern.
