Cash Eckel

A Rising Star in Balcones Village's Athletic Community

Cash Eckel may only be nine years old, but he's already making a big splash in the sports scene of our neighborhood. As a third grader at Spicewood Elementary, Cash is not only excelling in his academics but also thriving on the field and court.
Having lived in Balcones Village his entire life, Cash cherishes the close-knit community and the abundance of friends nearby. But it's his passion for sports that truly sets him apart. Currently, Cash is a lefty pitcher for the 9U Perfect Game tournament league, known as The Club. His skills and dedication recently earned his basketball team the Division Championship in Town and Country Basketball.
Cash's journey into sports began at the young age of four when he started playing baseball and soccer through Town and Country leagues. Inspired by his friends and parents, Cash found role models in athletes like Lionel Messi, Kyle Tucker, and Patrick Mahomes. Even his snowboarding adventures in Colorado and New Mexico have added to his love for staying active.
Reflecting on his favorite moments, Cash fondly remembers the thrill of throwing out runners from centerfield and third base, as well as winning the 8U championship. Yet, it's not just about winning for Cash; it's about perseverance and dedication. He understands the value of practice and resilience, balancing his sports commitments with his studies at Spicewood Elementary, where math is his favorite subject.
With the guidance of coaches like Coach Reed, Coach David, and his dad, Cash continues to grow and develop as an athlete. Looking ahead, he dreams of playing sports in college and one day becoming a professional athlete in baseball, basketball, or soccer.
For other young athletes in Balcones Village, Cash offers sage advice: "Even if you fail, try until you succeed and keep that momentum going with practice and good sportsmanship." With his unwavering determination and positive attitude, Cash Eckel is undoubtedly a shining example of sportsmanship and talent in our community.
