Inspired by A Connection to Play

We have a double March Athlete of the Month. Sharing the spotlight is brother and sister duo TaMera and Terran. Both young athletes work hard on and off the court.  Terran and TaMera both play guard for the Liberty Eagles. When you talk to this duo you will find out that their passion for basketball came from their parents, both former players themselves.

Terran and TaMera shared some great information with us about why they love what they do and some sound advice for other players.

How long have you played and what do you love the most about it?
Terran: “I have played for 10 years and my favorite thing about basketball is the competition.”
TaMera: “I love the competitiveness of basketball ever since I started playing 9 years ago.”

What do you like to do when you aren't playing basketball?
Terran: “When I'm not on the court you can find me hanging out with my teammates.”
TaMera: “When I'm not playing basketball or hanging with friends I enjoy doing arts and crafts.”

What is your proudest/favorite moment?
Terran: “My proudest moment is beating one of our rivalry teams Holt by 30 points. I have also achieved most steals on the team in freshman year. My sophomore year I played several positions so I plan on getting back to it.”
TaMera: “My proudest moment is when I made my first basket on the JV team.”

What is one piece of advice you would give someone else?
Terran: “A piece of advice I will give other people playing the sport is to never give up. You never know the moment you can shine. Always just go for it. It’s a sport where you always learn new things.”
TaMera: “My best advice for others playing the sport is to practice, practice, practice. The more work you put in the more work you get out.”
