Lexi Tarr

Crafting Moments, Creating Memories in Sports Videography

Lexi Tarr,17, has emerged as a rising star in the world of sports videography. As a senior at Winfield High School, Lexi has not only discovered her passion but is also leaving an indelible mark with her extraordinary work with her company LT Hype Productions.

Lexi calls Scott Depot home, where she resides with her parents Travis and Holly Tarr, and her 11-year-old brother Bentley. Her educational journey started at Teays Valley Christian School and transitioned to Winfield High School during her junior year. As she approaches the end of her high school chapter, Lexi envisions attending Marshall University to study Video Production and Marketing with a specialization in sports.

Lexi has always had a passion for sports. She played volleyball, softball, and cheerleading at Teays Valley Christian School. At WHS, she actively participates in Pep Club, Lunch Bunch, and Beta Club, and holds a significant role as the social media manager for Winfield High School’s Varsity Men's Basketball.

Her journey into sports videography unfolded unexpectedly in September 2023. Inspired by a football commercial on ESPN, Lexi found her calling and shadowed photographer Chris Feldhaus, aka Haus Media, during Winfield High School’s Varsity Men’s Basketball Jersey Release.  Lexi commented, “I created my first hype video which ended up having over 5000 impressions on Facebook alone, not to mention all the other social media platforms.”

Lexi shared with Stoll Winfield how passionate she is about sports videography, “I love everything about it. Being able to spend the time filming, planning, editing, etc. Because I know I am about to turn a request into reality. Sending the videos to the athletes is my favorite part. Knowing that they love the video is what keeps me motivated."

What sets Lexi apart is her unique approach to videography, starting with audio and envisioning the final product based on athletes' desires. She explains, "I start with the audio, and as soon as I listen to the audio, I can envision what athletes want their product to look like, and then I bring it to life." Lexi adds, “Additionally I have had the opportunity to work with larger corporations doing their social media, like my family's businesses, and other local companies, health spas and even including a yacht company.

Balancing academics, sports, and videography can be challenging, but Lexi manages stating,” I normally make lists of what is due sooner. I like to give myself a due date for everything because it helps me get things done."

Lexi is grateful to her friends and family for their support while singling out some specific family members. My Grandmother Brenda, is the reason I am able to do this. She believed in me and knew I found my passion. In honor of my Grandfather Larry whose nickname was LT,  I named my company LT Hype Productions as a play on my and his name.”

Lexi's journey with LT Hype Productions is one filled with promise, and we eagerly anticipate the incredible heights she will reach in the world of sports videography.
