The Shows Family

Winston and Mandi Shows live in Willowbend with their two children, Buddy (11) and Abigail (9). The Shows family moved to the neighborhood in 2020 from Carrollton and quickly fell in love with the area. They appreciate the convenience of having everything they need close by, from top-notch grocery stores at Park and Preston to a wide variety of shops and restaurants. They found their church home at Parkway Hills Baptist, located just across the street, and have enjoyed becoming part of such a warm and welcoming community. One of their favorite things about Willowbend is the ability to cruise around the neighborhood in a golf cart to visit friends. The park is a regular hangout for the family, and they especially love the Halloween celebrations—which bring back the nostalgic, close-knit neighborhood spirit that Winston and Mandi cherished growing up.

Winston is an M&A attorney at RSM, where he specializes in helping businesses navigate complex transactions. Mandi, a former CPA, stepped away from accounting to focus on raising their kids and has since found a creative outlet in designing and selling t-shirts. Together, they balance professional expertise with entrepreneurial spirit and family life.

Winston grew up in Laurel, Mississippi—the charming town now featured on HGTV’s Hometown. He attended Ole Miss for both undergrad and law school, then completed a clerkship in Mississippi before moving to Dallas to earn his Master of Laws from SMU. Mandi was raised in Fort Worth and Weatherford, and earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin. The two met while working at KPMG, bonding over their co-ed softball team, and were married in Fort Worth in 2008.

Buddy is a budding comedian with a big personality and a love for entertaining. He enjoys watching and creating all kinds of videos—from jump-scare pranks to spicy food challenges and food reviews. When he’s not filming, he loves hanging out with his friends and playing video games. Abi is always on the move and eager to try any sport or activity that comes her way. She’s explored dance, gymnastics, soccer, basketball, and softball—her current favorite. Winston and Mandi coach Abi and her friends on a local rec softball team, and she recently took the next step by joining a more competitive team that comes with extra practices and more games.

Winston and Mandi’s family loves to travel and explore new places, especially when it involves discovering great restaurants along the way. They enjoy visiting Winston’s family in Mississippi and try to make a trip to the Cayman Islands each summer. For quick getaways, the kids especially love spending time at the Kalahari Resort in Georgetown. At home, the family enjoys playing board games—trivia is a favorite—and relaxing together with movie nights.

Winston and Mandi are the kind of people who go all out for Christmas. They decorate the entire house—right down to the bedsheets and even the pictures on the walls. Matching pajamas are a must for Christmas morning, and they wear them all season long. One of their favorite traditions is cozying up in those pajamas for Christmas movie nights, complete with hot cocoa and Elf (with Buddy the Elf!) playing on repeat. Their kids’ birthdays are almost exactly two years apart to the day, and every summer they celebrate with a family photo session followed by a fun “smash cake” tradition—what starts as a cake smash quickly turns into a full-on cake fight, always ending with a jump into the pool.
