Tailwaggers Country Inn Pet Resort is a 34-acre luxury pet vacation destination serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area. “I founded TCI in 1998 when I could not find a solution for my four dogs when I had the need to travel, which I did often for my job as a fashion model,” explained owner Suzen Dennis.

 

“Initially, I bought a one-bedroom home on 7 acres for my pups and hired a nanny to care for them on a daily basis and when I was traveling,” shared Suzen. “The word got out, and soon I was helping out friends' dogs as well. I saw a need and followed my passion for pooches. Tailwaggers Country Inn was born!”

 

Services at Tailwaggers Country Inn include boarding, grooming, daycare, and transportation. There is even a separate spacious sanctuary for cats. Three staff members live on site for the safety of the guests and peace of mind for pet parents. Additionally, staff are CPR and first aid trained for animals.

 

“We have a full-size inground swimming pool, VIP suites with 42-inch TVs and interactive webcams, an indoor gym for inclement weather days, and much more,” exclaimed Suzen. “We pick up and drop off pups door to door from this area and throughout Dallas for your convenience.”

 

One thing that sets Tailwaggers Country Inn apart is that Suzen hires only those with the same passion for animals as she feels. “If passion is there, I can teach anything,” added Suzen. “My staff is very well trained and we are really the Tailwaggers Family. I have staff members who have been with me for 5-20 plus years.”

 

Suzen advises anyone with pets to thoroughly tour boarding facilities when you are making a decision. “Your Pets are precious members of your family, and they are a commitment for several years. If that facility does not allow you to see the ENTIRE facility... LEAVE! Look for fresh clean water for all, cleanliness, pleasant friendly staff, and happy pups!”

Currently, Suzen and her husband have three of their own pups, Monkee, Diva, and Kiki, and a cat named Paisley. Suzen’s husband Michael is an attorney, but is now fully devoted to Tailwaggers Country Inn. The two of them enjoy working with a number of animal rescue groups. “Together we have a blended family of 6 adult children. We enjoy travel, dining out hiking, skiing, cooking and entertaining.”
