Micki and Guy Wayman, along with their daughters Sadie and Jessie, have loved calling Willow Bend home for the past six years. Their favorite part of living in the neighborhood is the easy access to shops, restaurants, and parks, as well as the beautiful trail system they enjoy for exercise and walking their dog. Over time, they have connected with many neighbors who also appreciate the walking paths. The Waymans especially value the strong sense of community in Willow Bend.  Specifically, they enjoy the monthly poker games and neighborhood happy hours. The community events have been a wonderful way to build friendships.

 

Guy and Micki Wayman both grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, and reconnected there about six years after college. At the time, Guy had just returned to pursue his career and buy his first home, while Micki was finishing her Master’s degree and considering a move to Denver. Since Guy had attended college in Denver and loved the city, they made a plan to start their life in Denver together. A few years later, they married, and both of their daughters were born in Denver. Today, Guy works as a financial advisor specializing in retirees, and his career eventually brought the family to Texas—a move that has proven to be a wonderful fit for them. Micki has been teaching high school science for 28 years.  She currently teaches at Trinity Christian Academy, where Sadie and Jessie attend school.  She loves to encourage students to explore the wonders of God's creation through the lens of science, helping them understand that science is a gift from God to understand the natural world.

 

As a family, the Waymans share a love for snow skiing. While living in Texas means they don’t get to ski as often as they would like, Sadie and Jessie have become accomplished skiers over the years. Micki enjoys spending time at home, walking the dog around the park, playing pickleball, and caring for her flowers and plants. Guy stays active by lifting weights, working out at F45, and playing both pickleball and hockey.

 

Sadie and Jessie stay busy with competitive cheer as well as their school sports teams, while also making time to hang out with friends and visit their favorite local ice cream spots. Both girls are dedicated students who consistently make the honor roll. They also enjoy being part of small groups with friends and find fulfillment in volunteering and giving back to the community.

 

The Wayman family cherishes many traditions, especially spending time at their cabin on the Missouri River in Jefferson, South Dakota, where they enjoy relaxing with family and friends. Holidays are also a special part of their lives, with Christmas and the 4th of July standing out as their favorites to celebrate together.

 

The Wayman family attends St. Andrew Methodist Church, where they deeply value the supportive community and the guidance of the staff. Their church home has been an important part of their faith journey and continues to strengthen their walk with Christ.
