Goals, Grit, and Greatness

LHS sophomore Peter Tomaras is making his mark in hockey and lacrosse while chasing his dream of playing in the NHL.

Say hello to Peter Tomaras! Peter is 15 years old and currently a sophomore at Lafayette High School. He lives in the Highlands subdivision with his family: his dad, Andrew, his mom, Jill, and his two sisters, Sophia and Ella.

In school, Peter’s favorite subject is science, especially because he enjoys doing experiments in classes like chemistry and biology. Outside the classroom, Peter stays busy as a two-sport athlete, playing both hockey and lacrosse, where he has already found great success on the Lafayette teams.

Beyond sports, Peter has a wide range of interests and hobbies. He enjoys everything from chess and video games to golf. He also says that if he were to learn a musical instrument, he would choose the piano. One fun fact about Peter is that he can juggle, an impressive skill that not many people have!

When he’s at home, Peter likes to relax by watching movies, his favorite is Mighty Ducks, and listening to rap music. He also says his favorite food is steak. One of his favorite vacations was a trip to Greece, where he enjoyed seeing the landscape and experiencing the culture, describing it as “cool to see.”

This year, Peter faced the challenge of the 2025–2026 hockey season. He plans to overcome it by continuing to train hard, give his best effort, and improve his chances of winning. Looking ahead, Peter hopes to one day become a professional hockey player in the National Hockey League (NHL). We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
