Rambert Xu, the son of Richard Xu and Lily Wang of The Highlands, is an excelling student who is about to begin 8th grade at Rockwood Valley Middle School with a passion for both music and sports.
Since kindergarten, Rambert has been dedicated to playing the piano. Over the years, he became attracted to some of Chopin's compositions and is currently playing Ballade No. 1 and the Revolutionary Étude, both known for their complexity. In addition to Chopin, he also enjoys playing the Third Movement of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.
At school, Rambert is a member of the band, where he plays as the first chair alto saxophone for the Cadet Band. He also performed with the Jazz Band on piano at Rockwood Valley Middle School. Beyond music, Rambert has a strong interest in mathematics. His love for math has led him to participate in several math competitions over the past year. Through these, he gained problem-solving skills and encourages other students to participate in similar events.
On the sports side of things, Rambert has developed a strong interest in fencing. His dedication and skill have made him a great fencer. This summer, he will be competing at the Fencing Summer Nationals, an event he has been eagerly preparing for. To get ready, he will be attending several fencing camps throughout the summer, with the goal of performing his best at the national level.
In the future, Rambert wants to pursue a career in medicine. More specifically, he wants to become a neurosurgeon. His dream is to earn a degree from Washington University, a school he greatly admires for its strong medical program. We wish Rambert the best of luck!
