Alex Thames of Wildhorse

Say hello to Alexander (Alex) Thames, a kindergartener from Chesterfield Elementary School! He lives in the Wildhorse subdivision with his parents Brad and Shuiyi Thames and his little sister Abigail (Abby). Alex is a caring brother and is always eager to share what he has with his little sister. Despite his young age, he already watches out for her with his advice on what she should or shouldn’t do and by comforting her when she needs it!

Alex is bilingual and has been learning Mandarin Chinese since the age of three. He can speak and recognize many different Chinese characters now. Alex is inspired by his Daddy and looks up to him because he has fond memories of them making chocolate chip cookies together on Christmas Eve, going on boys’ night out to eat cheeseburgers, and being taught soccer. Alex started soccer at the age of three, and since then he has loved playing in spring and fall seasons every year. In fact, Alex’s favorite character is Sonic the Hedgehog because he enjoys seeing how fast Sonic runs and thinks the magical rings would be incredibly useful in a game of soccer.

Soccer isn’t the only sport Alex likes to play. He also has fun swimming and riding his bike. Other hobbies of his include drawing, building castles with Magna-Tiles, cooking, and watching TV shows with Mama. They recently started watching a Netflix cooking show called Is It Cake? and he has so much fun guessing which cakes are real or fake. He also enjoys watching cartoons such as Tom and Jerry and Transformers and reading books like Kid Astronomer. Alex has also enjoyed Encyclopedia Prehistorica Dinosaurs because he has loved dinosaurs since he was very little.

While he is unsure what he wants to be when he grows up, he thinks it would be cool to be a baseball-playing dinosaur. At the time this is being written, Alex is loving his latest adventure - Kindergarten and making new friends. The next time you see him, ask him how it’s going!
