Bricks, Beats, and Big Goals
Whether he’s building with Legos, playing the cello, or scoring on the ice, Dillon An brings energy and creativity to everything he does.

Dillon An of Wilderness is a talented 12-year-old beginning 7th grade at John Burroughs School, bringing with him a love of music, sports, and, of course, video games.
Dillon lives with his mom, dad, younger brother Ian, and their energetic black and white Border Collie, Lumi. The whole family can speak both Chinese and English fluently, except for Lumi, who communicates in high pitched barks when she’s hungry.
Music has been with Dillon almost his whole life. He has played the piano since kindergarten and the cello for the past three years, earning multiple medals in state competitions. His love of music runs alongside another passion: mathematics.
Dillon skipped a grade in math in the 3rd grade. He enjoys the simple equations as well as the mind-bending problems and his enthusiasm has led him to diving into a few math competitions as well.
Academically, he attended Center of Creative Learning (CCL) elementary, Rockwood Valley Middle School (RVMS) in 6th, and now John Burroughs for 7th and 8th grade. While eager to join the “bear family,” he is a bit nervous about starting at a school where he doesn’t know anyone yet.
Outside of school, Dillon is an accomplished hockey player for the Chesterfield Falcons. His dedication, countless practices and hardcore summer camps, all paid off this winter when he and his team won first place at the Blue Note Cup. Dillon has also attended many other events including the Wisconsin State and Notre Dame tournaments.
When he’s not studying, practicing music, or on the ice, Dillon enjoys building intricate as well as simple Lego sets including the Titanic, as well as relaxing with some of his favorite video games.
Looking ahead, Dillon wants to be an architect, a career that mixes his love for Legos and creative design. Upgrading from small bricks to full-scale blueprints is his dream and he hopes to bring bold ideas to life. Here’s to clearer notes, clean passes, and big dreams!
