Meet 6th grader Elizabeth O’Neill of Wildhorse! Elizabeth lives with her mom, Barbara, her dad, Bryan, and older brother, Chistopher.  Elizabeth is a cheerleader for both Jr. Lancers and for ICE Allstars. At ICE, Elizabeth is on two competition teams, Frozen 4 (a junior level 4 team), and Equator (a junior level 3 team).

Elizabeth’s cheer journey has been quite remarkable. She tried out for the 2024-2025 season with only having a back walkover, a level 1 skill. She made the level 1 team, but within a month, Elizabeth had mastered her back handspring, a level 2 skill. That much progress for an entire season is normal, but Elizabeth didn’t stop there! In that same season, Elizabeth quickly got to her level 3 and 4 skills including, throwing roundoff back handspring tucks (her favorite skill) and layouts. She is now one of the best tumblers in the gym!

Elizabeth is currently working on her full, a level 5 skill. These skills didn’t come without hard work! Elizabeth takes private lessons and extra tumbling classes to perfect her skills and make sure they’re clean. She practices for hours at home, constantly flipping herself around. Elizabeth has practice 6 days a week between her competition and sideline teams!

Though Elizabeth loves tumbling, she also loves being on a team with her friends and the bonding that comes with it. Outside of cheer, this also shows, as she makes time to hang out with her friends and have fun! Her advice to an aspiring cheerleader? “Don’t be afraid, trust yourself and the coach, and throw the skills!
