Say hello to sweet Lola Obregon! This adorable eight-year-old Maltese-Yorkie mix (or “Morkie”) may be small in size, but she’s overflowing with personality, loyalty, and sass. Since moving to Westbrook in August 2023, the Obregon family has fallen in love with the neighborhood’s peaceful charm, sense of community, and especially the neighborhood pool. But the real star of their household is undoubtedly Lola.

Lola’s journey to her forever home is a heartwarming one. She was rescued as a tiny pup—barely the size of a palm—by Angelica’s mom, who nursed her back to health. That Christmas, the family was asked to dog sit... and Lola simply never left. “That Christmas, without us even realizing it, Lola chose us,” Angelica shares. “She’s been our little shadow ever since.”

As a Morkie, Lola is full of playful energy and affection, but what truly sets her apart is her devotion to her people. She follows her family everywhere and hates being left behind. Sensitive, sassy, and sweet, she has a way of letting you know when she’s not getting the attention she thinks she deserves! Her “superpower”? Sensing the moment you're about to leave the house—long before you even touch your keys. She’ll give you the guilt-trip stare-down, trying her best to change your mind.

While Lola isn’t a fan of running with other pups, she adores lounging in the front yard, sunbathing or sitting on someone’s lap while taking in the neighborhood view. Her favorite toys are squeaky little animals, and her treat of choice? Anything with peanut butter!

One of Angelica’s most treasured memories is that first Christmas Lola spent with the family. She instantly bonded with their two Beagles, Baby and Mia—especially Mia, who became like a big sister, making Lola feel safe and loved. It was a quiet, meaningful moment that marked the start of a lifelong bond.

These days, you’ll likely spot Lola relaxing outside, glued to her humans, and enjoying every moment of Westbrook life—one sunbeam (or peanut butter treat) at a time.
