Gary and Tracy Lewis- Retirement, Rivalry, and a Whole Lot of Community Spirit

If you’ve attended a Women of Westbrook event or caught a glimpse of a man in a boldly patterned golf shirt walking a dog named Duke, chances are you’ve already encountered Tracey and Gary Lewis. This fun-loving, community-minded couple has called Westbrook home for nearly four years—and they’ve made quite the impression in that time.
Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Tracey is an eighth-generation Charlestonian with a passion for genealogy, event planning, and travel. Gary, a proud U.S. Navy veteran who retired after 22 years of service, enjoys teeing off with several local golf groups and is rarely seen without his signature flair for bright and cheerful golf attire.
Although they’re both retired, their schedules are far from quiet. Tracey serves as the President of Women of Westbrook and also coordinates the popular Harvest Hill Happy Hours, while Gary is an active member of the Men’s Green Tee Group and the Savannah Quarters Men’s Golf Association. As Tracey jokes, “We’re retired—every day is Saturday!” That means weekends are filled with church, golf, and planning their next adventure together.
One of their favorite shared pastimes is attending Broadway-style musicals at local theaters, including the Historic Savannah Theater, Hilton Head’s Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, and the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. Travel is also high on their list, with Ireland already circled for a 2026 trip. Closer to home, they enjoy their street’s monthly happy hours, where neighbors take turns hosting—strengthening the already strong sense of community that drew them to Westbrook in the first place.
And let’s not forget Duke, their beloved 8-year-old mixed-breed dog (part Carolina Dog, part American Bull Terrier—most likely). Whether he's patrolling the neighborhood on his daily walks or charming fellow residents, Duke is very much part of the Lewis crew.
If you’re lucky enough to catch the Lewises out and about—maybe Tracey in Clemson orange and Gary in Alabama crimson—be sure to say hello. Just don’t ask them to agree on a college football team!
Stroll Westbrook is a private, neighborhood magazine for Westbrook (the gated neighborhood in Savannah Quarters). We thrive on fostering community through stories about families, kids, pets, artists and entrepreneurs in our beautiful neighborhood in Pooler, GA.
