Meet the Artist: Sherry Glass – Where History, Travel & the Sea Collide

Westbrook resident Sherry Glass is proof that creativity doesn’t retire—it evolves. A gifted artist with a deep appreciation for storytelling and the sea, Sherry is the creator behind Mermaid Garden, a whimsical and ever-growing collection of coastal-inspired decor and jewelry that celebrates the natural beauty of the ocean.
Her handcrafted pieces range from enchanting Christmas ornaments to elegant necklaces and her signature standalone Mermaid Gardens—decorative oyster shell creations meant to live on your counter or shelf all year long, bringing a touch of coastal joy to your home. The necklaces have become a customer favorite, but it’s the larger, one-of-a-kind Mermaid Gardens that remain the heart of the collection. Each piece is made with ocean treasures Sherry personally collects, giving her customers a beautiful and meaningful connection to the sea.
In addition to her artistry, Sherry has a dream job with the Chatham County Public School System as an educator and tour guide at the historic Massie Heritage Center—Savannah’s first public school, opened in 1856. With passion and personality, she shares local history with students and visitors alike, always encouraging them to “learn where you live.”
Sherry is also a seasoned travel consultant with Prestige Travel Services, a career she’s enjoyed for nearly three decades. Helping clients plan unforgettable adventures allows her to travel vicariously while staying inspired by the world around her.
Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Sherry and her husband Greg have called Westbrook home for four years. Their son, Connor, continues to live in Dayton but visits often, adding to the warmth and vibrancy of their lives here in Pooler.
You can find Sherry’s Mermaid Garden collection locally at Gallery 108 in City Market, or at a boutique in Charleston. Whether it's through art, history, or travel, Sherry brings joy, curiosity, and creativity to everything she does.
