The Taylor Family
It hardly seems possible that it has been thirteen years since our family was last featured in these pages. Looking back, it's amazing to see how quickly the years have passed and what wonderful young adults our children are becoming. While each has grown into their own unique person, they continue to share the values that matter most to our family—kindness, hard work, service to others, and making time for the people they love.
Madison Taylor is now a rising senior at Sarasota High School, where she ranks in the top five percent of her class and is enrolled in the Cambridge AICE Honors Program. This summer, she completed a pre-med summer program at Emory University, further fueling her interest in the medical field. Outside the classroom, Madison enjoys paddle boarding, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and is a member of Sarasota High's varsity weightlifting team. She is actively involved in community service through SYC CARES and National Charity League and serves on the Ensign Board at Sarasota Yacht Club. Madison was also recently honored with a nomination to participate as a 2026–2027 Debutante.
Austin Taylor is a rising sophomore in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program at Riverview High School. He enjoys football, weightlifting, chess, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. He is also an active member of Riverview High School's Travel Club. This coming year, he plans to try out for the school's weightlifting team. Austin gives back through his involvement with the Ensign Board at Sarasota Yacht Club and participates in Sarasota Cotillion, where he continues to build friendships, leadership skills, and a strong sense of community.
Ella Taylor is a rising seventh grader at Sarasota Middle School, where she is part of the Panther Gifted Academy. Creative by nature, Ella has a passion for the arts and enjoys singing, writing, drawing, painting, and competitive dance. Math is her favorite subject, and she brings the same enthusiasm to academics that she does to her artistic pursuits. She volunteers through National Charity League, will soon begin participating in Sarasota Cotillion, and recently discovered a love for cheer after attending Little Rams Cheer Camp. Whether she's swimming, boating, or spending time with friends and family, Ella brings joy and creativity wherever she goes.
As for Mom and Dad, life continues to be full and rewarding. Nikki recently launched Nikki Taylor Collection at Douglas Elliman, where she specializes in luxury residential real estate throughout the Sarasota area. Trevor is celebrating his 20th year as a financial advisor and proudly serves as a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) with Accurate Wealth Management. Together, they enjoy cheering on their children's many activities, making memories with family and friends, and enjoying all that makes Sarasota such a special place to call home.
Nana (aka Margie) continues to be one of the heartbeats of our family. She remains active in the community through her volunteer work and enjoys working out, traveling, tackling Sudoku and Scrabble, and spending time with family and friends. Most importantly, she is an incredibly devoted grandmother, playing an active role in the daily lives of her grandchildren—from school drop-offs and pick-ups to sporting events, performances, and everything in between. Simply put, she is the very best Nana, and we are all so grateful for the love, wisdom, and unwavering support she brings to our family every day.
And then there's Axl, now six years old and unquestionably the mascot of Camp Taylor. Our beloved German Shepherd adores his family and is absolutely convinced that every sleepover is being hosted just for him—which, according to Axl, is exactly how it should be!
Looking back at the pages of the 2013 issue reminds us just how quickly childhood passes. Watching our children grow into kind, curious, and service-minded young adults has been the greatest joy of our lives, and we're grateful to call Sarasota the community where so much of our family's story has unfolded.
We are also so very grateful for STROLL and the wonderful way it helps connect neighbors and celebrate the people who make our community so special. Sharing stories like these reminds us that it's the relationships, friendships, and moments we experience together that truly define a neighborhood. That's what makes a community so very special, and we feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of it.
