Meet Dr. Amy Valenti of AV Dentistry, a private, family-owned dental practice located in the heart of Southside Village. Amy and her experienced team are dedicated to providing personalized care, employing the latest technology and techniques to deliver the best results. From routine check-ups to restorative procedures, they offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to each patient's unique needs. Your smile is their passion, and they strive to make every visit a positive experience!
The dental office at 1445 South Osprey Ave has been serving the Sarasota community since 1975, when Dr. Ken Cooper opened with a simple mission: to provide excellent dentistry with a personal touch. In 1985, Dr. Timothy Herring moved from Alabama to join Dr. Cooper, and by 1996, he had become the proud owner of the practice. Dr. Herring worked to develop the practice into a place where patients felt genuinely cared for—offering high-quality dentistry, compassion, consistency, and genuine relationships.
Amy Valenti met Dr. Herring in spring 2023, and from their first conversation, it was clear they shared the same passion for the profession. Dr. Herring was looking for someone to carry on the core of the practice he had built over the decades, and Amy was searching for a place that valued both the quality of care and the people behind each smile. It was a perfect match and the realization of a lifelong dream for Dr. Valenti, who became the owner of the practice in October 2023.
Amy grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where her early interest in dentistry was sparked by her own experiences as a patient. Her family moved to Sarasota from Cleveland in 2005, and she attended Cardinal Mooney High School before enrolling at the University of Central Florida for her undergraduate studies, graduating from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2018. A job opportunity for her husband, Matt, brought the couple back to Sarasota in 2019. They love spending time outdoors, at the beach and on the water with their 3-year-old daughter, Molly, and Murray, their Golden Retriever. The family enjoys trying new local restaurants, with Owen’s Fish Camp being a favorite. Amy is an active walker and enjoys visiting the Farmer’s Market. She supports many local schools, including Southside Elementary, Cardinal Mooney, and the Gan at Temple Sinai.
