Jessica Hays
SPARCC's President and CEO Champions Healing and Support

Jessica Hays is the dynamic President and CEO at SPARCC, a Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center. The agency provides free and confidential services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Sarasota and Desoto Counties. Unfortunately, domestic violence and rape are under-reported crimes occurring at every socioeconomic level, but early intervention with support services reduces shame and inter-generational trauma.
SPARCC's SERVICES
The under reporting of these crimes adversely impacts individuals and the family system, leading to psycho-social and economic consequences, such as unemployment, increased school drop-out rates, and homelessness. However, SPARCC is there to help in any way they can, with a 24-hour hotline and a range of services that include case management, career training, legal services, crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, community education, and a housing stability program. These services empower the survivor and family members. Jessica is incredibly proud of all that SPARCC has accomplished. The housing stability program was made possible with the help of a generous grant from Impact 100 SRQ. Jessica describes the staff and volunteers at SPARCC as the heart of the agency's success.
SPARCC's Accomplishments
"I am incredibly proud of all that SPARCC has accomplished. In 2017, we launched our legal program and, in the past year, expanded that program to include more legal services. Providing timely resources provides emotional support and reduces the financial and economic burden.” SPARCC is making a difference in the lives of countless individuals and families in our community.
One of Jesicca's favorite quotations is from Dr. Seuss:
“Unless someone like you cares a whole lot, it’s not going to get better, it’s not." There are many opportunities to get involved with SPARCC.
