Gibson: The Neighborhood Gentleman

For Jennifer Infanti and her family, Gibson arrived at just the right time. In April 2020, during the early days of lockdown, the English Yellow Lab joined their household as a much-needed bright spot. After a five-year wait for a Southeastern Guide Dog, the family was fortunate that Gibson became eligible for public adoption due to needing extra medical attention. From the start, it was clear he was something special. With excellent training, a calm nature, and an affectionate spirit, Gibson quickly became a beloved member of the family.

Now seven years old, Gibson is known for his gentle temperament, sweet disposition, and talent for offering comfort. He loves snuggling, keeping close when someone is feeling unwell, and making himself at home on the bed until he becomes, as Jennifer says, a complete bed hog. His family often jokes that he is like Clifford the Big Red Dog because he does not always seem to realize just how big he is.

Gibson’s favorite part of the day is riding on the golf cart to the bus stop for afternoon pickup. He also loves walks, visits to the dog park, and spending time with neighborhood pals Beans, a mini–Australian Shepherd, and Coco, a mini-Schnauzer. At home, his sharp ears are the reason the family spells out T-R-E-A-T, especially when peanut butter or something Dad is grilling is involved.

Known as the “Mayor of the neighborhood,” Gibson enjoys sunbathing in the driveway and watching the world go by. Gentle with children, loyal to his family, and adored by nearly everyone he meets, Gibson has earned a reputation that is hard to dispute: he just might be the best dog ever.
