In late July of 2022, Wellsgate resident, Katie Deweese, got a call from her husband, Clay (who’s in real estate), to tell her that The Ravine restaurant was going up for sale. “Do you want to go look at it?” Clay asked, to which Katie responded, “Now?” “Yes!" he said.

Katie shared, "On my way there i was talking on the phone to my sister, Mary Tison Brown, and she asked me what I was up and I told her I was headed to look at The Ravine because it was for sale. She responded, 'Jay and I will go in with you!' and that was that lol!

Clay and I had one of our first dates at The Ravine back when it was a restaurant (just ask Bonnie and Denny Siebert of Wellsgate, they were siting right next to us!) The Ravine was always a unique, cozy place, so I thought we could do some updating and give it a face lift! Clay has built a few houses so I knew he had the creative mindset for a project like this. 

We used McCoy Construction who were a great team and easy to work with. My long time and uber-talented friend, Ashley Clark, did the decorating. I had full confidence that she would get the vision of the space and earthy, warm tones freshened the place up while creating a calm, cozy effect throughout the house."

The Ravine operates as a Bed and Breakfast or an event venue. You can host an event and not stay overnight or just stay overnight with no event! There are many options, and we can work with your needs and desires. Although we do not serve dinner, event fees cover the cost of the commercial kitchen use so chefs and caterers can come in. You may also bring your own food!

The Ravine offers entire property rental as well as rental space for any event from birthday parties, family reunions, rehearsal dinners, and private chef dinners!
