Get to Know the Fischer's

The Fischer family—Jill, Steve, and their 11-year-old daughter Elena—moved to Twin Rivers two years ago and have quickly made it home.
Steve grew up in Woodway and, after spending five years working at Disney World, returned to Waco—where he’s always felt at home. He now serves as a Vice President at Community Bank & Trust, focusing on lending. In addition to his professional work, Steve is active in the community. He serves on the Loaned Executive Committee for the United Way of Waco-McLennan County, is a member of the Midway Education Foundation, and volunteers at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
Jill grew up in Houston, Texas, and is beginning her 23rd year in education. Over the years, she has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and also worked in Student Athlete Services at Baylor University. She currently teaches third grade at Woodway Elementary School, where she brings experience, creativity, and a love of learning to her classroom. Jill is passionate about creating a positive, engaging environment for her students and is proud to be a teacher.
Elena just finished fifth grade at South Bosque Elementary and will begin sixth grade at River Valley Middle School this fall. She stays busy with a wide variety of after-school activities, including piano, basketball, golf, ballet, jazz, and musical theatre dance. Around the neighborhood, Elena loves walking her dogs, Winnie and Jo, or cruising through Twin Rivers on her scooter.
For the Fischer family, Twin Rivers felt like home right away. With several friends already living in the neighborhood, the transition was easy and familiar. They’ve come to appreciate not just the connections, but also the beautiful surroundings, and strong sense of community that make Twin Rivers a place they’re proud to call home.
