In 2015, James Garakani looked out of the back window of his home and watched as a pool technician spent five minutes at his pool falsely marking tasks that were never completed, then packed up and left without a second glance. That was all it took . . . True Blue Pool Waco was born! James and his close friend along with this great idea, started a company that would shock the pool service industry in Waco. James along with his wife Ashley saw the company grow by 600% organically by 2016.

During the 2020 pandemic, there was a surge in pool installations, but the economy suffered as well. The cost of building a pool skyrocketed from an average of $40,000 to $120,000 within months. Because of this, they knew it was time to ensure their customers had complete peace of mind when it came to protecting their high-value investments. They took water chemistry to the next level, diligently studying state-of-the-art equipment and advanced calculators to ensure that the Langelier Saturation Index was always in check. Keeping plaster and equipment fully protected became their top priority.

James made it his mission to keep customers’ money in their pockets by focusing on protecting plaster and equipment rather than carelessly letting costly damage occur due to improper water chemistry. No new technician would be allowed to work independently until they became an expert in water care. James and Ashley can proudly say they train each and every employee in no less than 3 months. Years ago it took us six months to train but they have it down to a science now and can turn around a new employee in about 12 weeks. This is no easy feat but it is the only way they will do it.

Today, the Garakanis have teamed up with a large investment group in a partnership to transform their company into a powerhouse in the pool service industry.
